The women’s game tonight against West Florida will represent the 39th meeting between the two programs on the basketball court. UNA holds an 18-20 all-time record against the Argonauts after the two teams split the season-series last year with each team winning on its home fl oor.
West Florida enters the game with a 2-4 record on the year after winning its last two games over Flagler (67-57) and Lincoln Memorial (46-41). The Lions currently hold a 5-2 record.
UNA forward Mekena Randle can be found near the top of a pair of statistical categories in the Gulf South Conference. The junior from Madison is sixth in the league in scoring, averaging 15.1 points per game. She is also second in rebounding, pulling down 9.4 boards per contest.
Tonight’s game will be the GSC opener for both teams. North Alabama was picked to fi nish fi fth in the league standings according to the GSC Preseason Poll. West Florida received 11 total points for a seventh-place prediction.

Men’s Game • 8 p.m.The men’s contest tonight against West Florida will represent the 39th meeting between the two basketball programs. UNA holds a 26-12 record in the all-time series. The Argonauts, however, have won the last three in the series, all coming last season. After sweeping the home-and-home series, UWF picked up a 72-66 win in the opening round of the Gulf South Conference Tournament.
Game times for this Saturday’s GSC home double-header against Valdosta State have been changed. The UNA women’s team will now tip-off at noon, with the men’s game slated to begin at 2 p.m. at Flowers Hall.
Both teams enter the game tonight with perfect 5-0 records. The West Florida men’s team has defeated Palm Beach Atlantic (102-91), Georgia College (66-46), Mississippi College (78-75), Albany State (74-52) and Tuskegee (89-84 in OT).
