•Diode Unbiased Clippers
What is a clipper?
• The process of limiting a wave to some arbitrary levels is called Clipping.
• The circuit that limit the amplitude of an output is called a clipping circuit.
• This is known as CLIPPER.
General Categories of Clippers
• There are Two major Categories of Clippers.
• 1 Parallel
• 2 Series
Unbiased parallel Clipper
Unbiased parallel clipper acts as a half wave rectifier.
In this case input is a sine wave and diode is considered to be an ideal diode.

Unbiased Parallel Positive Clipper
• In positive unbiased Clipper , Positive portion of sine wave clipped out and
we got only negative portion of sine wave.

Unbiased Parallel Negative Clipper
• In positive unbiased Clipper , negative portion of sine wave clipped out and
we got only positive portion of sine wave.

Unbiased Series Clipper
Unbiased series clipper acts as a half wave rectifier.
In this case input is a sine wave and diode is considered to be an ideal diode.

Unbiased Series Negative Clipper
• In negative series unbiased Clipper , negative portion of sine wave clipped out and
we got only positive portion of sine wave.
