VENTILATION AT PITCHED ROOFS

A defined and controlled ventilation at pitched roofs is the major basis for a durable, damage-free function of the roof construction and of the roof covering.

An inadequate ventilation causes damages at:

the roof coveringthe roof construction.

An optimal ventilation is mainly reached by counter battens between eaves and hip area. The so caused space under the roof covering fulfils various tasks:

penetrating moisture from the roof covering can be discharged safely,the safe discharge of condensate water from the bottom side of the roof coverings,ventilation of the roof covering,the so caused ventilation space can contribute to summer heat insulation.

Snow stop grates are installed directly above the eaves to catch slipping snow. In snow rich areas the installation of multiple-row snow stop systems is recommended. Snow noses are applied evenly on the complete roof area to hold the snow and to prevent it from slipping.

To be always on the safe side please use our MAGE snow stop system.

If pedestrians or things get hurt by from the roof falling snowor chunks of ice the house owner is responsible.He has to pay for bodily injury and property damage.

Humidity on buildings can occur in liquid (rain) or gaseous (water vapour) form. Additionally there can be residual damp which could be embedded in the building materials (e.g. in wood). Hence a protec-tion of the construction and insulation against miscellaneous influences from the inside and the out-side is urgently needed to prevent damages.
