The company processing plants are situated at MANGAMPETA (YSR Dist, Andhra Pradesh, INDIA) the place renowned as Single largest
BARITE deposit Mine in the World.
The Mangampeta mines with an estimated reserves of 74 million tons of barite, was discovered in the year 1954 and it’s
estimated that the Mine will serve industry requirements for few more decades.
In the year 1994 the Barite mines were Nationalized by Govt. of India, in order to
have control on utilization of Barite Mining to balance Environment and Industry levels.

Advantages:
* High specific gravity; raises drilling fluid
density *White color (helps to keep the rig clean)
* Controls formation pressure, stabilizes the borehole & Chemically inert
Properties:
* Specific Gravity 4.20
* Moisture Content Less than 1% * Mineral Content 94% Barium Sulphate
* Bulk Density 150 lbs/ft3
Mixing & Application:
Add Barite through high shear mixer or jet
hopper so that entire circulating volume is at
uniform weight. To control artesian flow at
surface, keep the hole full at all times with
weighted mud. Starting with 100 gallons of
mud at a weight of 9 lbs/gal, 134 lbs of
Barite will raise the weight to 10 lb/gal and
increase the volume to 104 gallons.

Oil well Drilling Fluid: In geotechnical engineering, Drilling fluid is a fluid used to aid the drilling of boreholes in to the earth. Often used while
drilling oil and natural gas wells and on exploration drilling rigs, drilling fluids are also used for much simpler boreholes, such as water wells.
Liquid drilling fluid is often called drilling mud. The three main categories of drilling fluids are water-based muds (which can be dispersed & non-dispersed), non-aqueous muds, usually called oil-based mud, and gaseous drilling fluid, in which a
wide range of gases can be used.
The main functions of drilling fluids include providing hydrostatic pressure to prevent formation fluids from entering into the well bore, keeping the drill bit cool and clean during drilling, carrying out drill cuttings, and suspending the drill
cuttings while drilling is paused and when the drilling assembly is brought in and out of the hole. The drilling fluid used for a particular job is selected to avoid formation damage and to limit corrosion.
