Clapsaddle-Garber Associates is a

facilities in Marshall-town that it’s almost impossible to cross town without using a project that CGA was involved with. A few visible local projects in the last year include site design, survey, and testing at the new Central Iowa Hos-pital (CIH) hospital site; survey work at the new Alliant Marshalltown Gener-ating Station; survey work for the rebuild of ITC’s electric line

along East Nevada Street; survey, design, right of way acquisition, con-struction observation and testing of the East Nevada Street reconstruction, site design at the MHS Roundhouse project, and the design of a hangar "#%'

Bill Grabe came to CGA as a recent grad-uate of ISU in the spring of 1975. Almost 40 years later he is set to retire from the only “real” job he’s had. Bill has represented CGA with the utmost in character, honesty, and dedication to the industry and his clients. During his tenure at

CGA he has served as Project Manager, Vice President, President, and Chairman of the Board. “Much of CGA’s success can be attributed to the relationships we build with our clients. Taking the time to get to know our clients, to understand their needs before designing a solution has been a CGA hall-mark. I don’t expect that to ever change.” – Bill Grabe All of the current employees of CGA, as well as Bill’s many clients over the years, want to wish Bill a well-deserved happy retirement. Be-ginning on April 17, Bill will be a free man, but not before CGA hosts a reception for him at The Ridge Steakhouse at 2013 S. Center from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. Please stop by and help wish Bill the best.

The public will have the opportunity to dispose of documents containing personal information such as bank statements, tax records, canceled checks, pay stubs, medi-cal records and other paperwork that may include personal data including account numbers or social security num-bers. Properly destroying this type of information will help reduce the chance of identity theft occurring. “While properly destroying paper documents helps reduce identity theft, it is also just as important for con-sumers to protect their personal information stored on their computers and mobile devices,” said Jennifer Hass, Mar-*`%|*J# and be sure not to provide personal information to an unknown person,” added Hass. A total of 12.7 million Americans were hit with identity fraud in 2014. According to a recent Javelin Strategy & Research report, identity theft claims a new victim roughly every two seconds. $?H;.13:,1HH;:

The Iowa Economic Development Authority has selected the Marshalltown Central Business District (MCBD) as one of eight Main Street communities to receive a grant of technical assistance to conduct a downtown market analysis. The grant represents a $15,000 investment in technical services to analyze the Main Street area and will be conducted over six months with outside consulta-tion, training, and data analysis. The market analysis is a multi-stepped process of intertwining data driven analysis with on the ground surveys and perspectives to identify gaps and opportunities to pursue to have a complete Main Street business district. It might be thought of as a gap analysis. While focused on the Main Street district as the center for data analysis, the project will provide key data for the entire community. You might be wondering when this project will begin. It already has begun. J |!**!the local steering committee that MEDIC is fortunate to be a part of, as well as !#Jvisit occurred in early March with much of the data analysis already in place by the third party. Why such a long process if the data has already been ana-lyzed? In the world of economic development, there are two types of data for decision makers. There are the numbers that are collected by multiple database agencies on the global level, and then there are the numbers generated from on-the-ground data that tell another story. When these types of empirical data are combined, that’s when you know the true story and opportunity a community provides. In the coming months, you will see volunteers on the data collection commit-tee walking the streets requesting a few minutes of your time to take a survey. You may receive an email requesting you take some time to go on Survey Mon-key or perhaps a volunteer will be stationed inside one of our great downtown businesses. Please take a few minutes to provide your perspective on what you see missing in our downtown, how it can be improved to make the shopping experience even better or what you already love about the downtown that can be built upon. The true story of our great community is only as good the data we put into it and for that we need you. If you would like to take the survey you can go to: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/Marshalltown_Consumer_Online.
