LAW SALIENT PROVISIONS
RA 4136 (1996) Section 35 – Maximum allowable speed limits
Section 36 – uniform speed limits throughout the Philippines
Section 38 – Road Classification by Local Government Unit with jurisdiction
RA 7160 (1991) Section 447(a)(5)(v)-(vi) and Section 458 (a)(5)(v)_(vi) – Power of LGU to issue ordinances regulating streets, putting up of signs and traffic.

The Philippines enacted the following national laws:

1st P5,000.00
2nd P10,000.00
3rd P15,000 .00 plus three (3) months suspension of driver’s licenseP20,000.00 plus revocation of driver’s license
P30,000.00 plus suspension of driver’s license for three (3) months . A distracted driver of public utility vehicle, school bus, school service vehicle, a common carrier hauling volatile, flammable or toxic material within a fifty (50)-meter radius from the school premises
Anti-Drunk and Drugged Driving Act of 2013Penalties
Offense AmountIf violation did not result in Physical Injuries or Homicide
3 months imprisonment and P20,000 to P80,000.00 fine
If violation has resulted in Physical Injuries
Penalty indicated in Article 263 of the Revised Penal Code whichever is higher and P100,000.00 to P200,000.00 fine
If violation has resulted in homicide
Penalty provided in Article 249 of the Revised Penal Code and P300,000.00 to P500,000.00 fine
for Non-ProfessionalDriver’s License Holders
1st conviction: confiscation and suspension of license for a period of twelve (12) months
