FIGURES AT A GLANCEDuring the months of April, May and June 2020, the UNHCR Regional Office for South Latin America, complementing the national response of governments in the Southern Cone, has supported more than 25,000 people with direct deliveries of assistance emergency, hygiene items and winter clothes, among other actions, benefiting refugees and migrants, host communities and authorities government (asylum and migration systems) to face the challenges that have arisen from the COVID-19 pandemic. Direct assistance equals to USD 419,500, in Argentina, Chile, Paraguay and Uruguay. These actions complement the work that UNHCR carries out through its partners in these countries.
Dining rooms
2,100Support to 3 soup kitchens in the City of Buenos Aires, benefiting refugees, migrants and the host community.
- 300 persons for 1 week from Monday to Friday (5 days)- 500 persons for 1 week on Mondays and Saturdays (2 days)- 100 persona for 1 day
Winter campaign

- 750 adult kits (scarf, gloves, hat) + fleece jacket + leggings- 750 Children's kits (scarf, gloves, hat), polar jacket, leggings and 500 adult jackets- 3,700 kits (socks, long underpants, tights and underwear)
Support to strengthen the response capacity of the National Migration Directorate (DNM) to confront COVID-19, through the purchase of protective masks, chinstraps, disposable gloves, dispensers and gel alcohol, sanitizing booths and dividing glass for care in their offices.
Support to strengthen the response capacity of the Shelter section of the Directorate of Immigration and Migration through the purchase of printers, laptops, fingerprint readers, electronic signature digitizers, videoconferencing and scanner systems, and licenses for Microsoft Azure servers to facilitate online immigration procedures.
Support to the Uruguayan Ministry of Health with elements of attention for COVID-19: Echograph and Oximeters
Support for Civil Society Organizations of Human Rights with monitoring supplies for COVID 19 in shelters
