Pocket •  For women, centered with bottom of

name tag in line with top of third button •  Shoulder Insignia (Soft Cloth)

•  Ribbons: •  If worn, three per row

•  If not multiple of three, top row shall have less than 3

•  Centered ¼” above Left Pocket

•  Breast Insignia: •  Up to two may be worn •  First placed ¼” above top row of pocket

or ribbons if worn •  Second placed ¼” below top of pocket

•  Past officer device: •  If worn, ¼” below top of pocket

TROPICAL BLUE LONG

In addition to tropical blue long:

•  Only authorized cover is Combination Cover

•  Insignia Placement same as TBL

•  Long Sleeve shirt may be worn

•  Bridge Coat/Trench Coat Authorized

•  Windbreaker or sweaters may be worn in lieu of SDB coat unless situation dictates otherwise

•  Insignia is sleeve striping sewn on the sleeve with USCGAUX device above

SERVICE DRESS BLUE

•  Authorized for winter wear •  Permanent crease shirts not

authorized for auxiliarists until approved as standard issue

•  Only differences from TBL: •  SDB colored shirt •  Collar insignia as opposed to

shoulder boards

“Insignia shall be centered on the collar between the visible top and bottom collar edges with the devices, centered 1 inch from and parallel to the inner collar edges.”

•  Worn for formal occasions •  Jackets, trousers/skirts, and

shirts procured from USN •  Replace USN buttons and

gold chain with CGAUX buttons and silver chain

•  Shoes shall be high gloss military dress shoes

•  Black bowtie/tab •  Silver cummerbund •  Combination cover for males •  No cover for females

•  Insignia Placement: •  All uniforms:

•  Medals and miniature insignia centered on left lapel in line with second button from top

•  Blue Jacket: •  Sleeve striping in the manner of SDB

•  White Jacket: •  Hard Shoulder Boards

•  Outerwear: •  Trench Coat •  Bridge Coat

Wearing of the Auxiliary uniform without proper authority is a violation of

law. Prohibited occasions for wear include:

a. In places of dubious reputation where the uniform might be discredited

or disgraced. b. When engaged in political activities.

c. During paid employment or sports. d. Aboard an Auxiliary vessel or aircraft

facility unless the facility is on an authorized patrol.

e. Entry to or while present in a foreign country or territory unless

specifically authorized by an appropriate Coast Guard authority.

Authorization may be granted in the following cases:

(1) A scheduled patrol or deployment that might enter foreign

territories.

(2) An authorized SAR mission involving foreign borders or territories.

(3) Deployment or guest status aboard a Coast Guard cutter or aircraft

that enters foreign territory. (4) Visiting a foreign country as an

Auxiliarist on official business.
