INSTALLATION1. Drill a 1 - 3/16” (+1/8” - 0) diameter hole on the centerline of pipe.2. Clean pipe around hole to remove any oil, grease or burrs which may be present.3. With gasket installed in housing, center the housing over the hole and make sure the inner collar has entered the hole.DON’T LUBRICATE GASKET4. Attach the “U” bolt and uniformly tighten the nuts. Set the “OPEN” and “SHUT” targets for the appropriate valve size

INSTALLATIONNOTE: Ensure that the Non-rising Stem Gate Valve is in the fully open position before installing the VerticalIndicator PostDISASSEMBLE THE INDICATOR POST: Take off the Locking Wrench (11), slide off the Top Section (20) together with the Operating Nut (19) and the Square Stem (9) as well as the Crane Coupling (3) and ensure that all other accessories attached from the end of the body (10) by loosening two Hex Cap Screws (24) and Square Nut (23), slide off the Body (10) from the Standpipe (8) by loosening two Hex Cap Screws and Hex Nut. Loosen the two Hex Cap Screws and Hex Nut, slide off the Standpipe (8) from the Base Flange (5)

INSTALL THE BASE FLANGE AND STANDPIPE: Attach the Base Flange (5) together with the Standpipe (8) to the Post Flange of the Non-rising Stem Gate Valve using the four Cap Screws (1) and Hex Nut (2).ADJUST THE GROUND LINE MARK: Pull in and lower the Body (10) over the Standpipe (8) until the Ground Line Mark on the Body (10) is the same height as the ground level. Tighten the two Hex Cap Screws and Hex Nut.ADJUST THE SQUARE STEM: Lower the Stem (9) into the Body (10)/Standpipe (8) such that the Crane Coupling (13) fits over the operating nut of the Non-rising Stem Gate Valve. Ensure that the Stem (9) engages the Operating Nut (19) a minimum of 2 inches but no more than 4.5 inches. To check for correct engagement, theend of stem should be from 2 to 4.5 inches below the top of the Body (10).ADJUST THE TARGETS: TRemove the Target Carrier Assembly (12+13+14) from inside the Body (10) by rotating the Operating Nut (19) counterclockwise. The Open Target (16) and Shut Target (not shown) are adjusted up or down on the Target Carrier Assembly (12+13+14) by pulling the middle section of the Target (Open and Shut) a small distance away from the Target Carrier Assembly (12+13+14) and sliding the Target (Open and Shut) up or down as desired.If the Non-rising Stem Gate Valve is opened left: Move the two Open Targets (16) to the very top of the TargetCarrier Assembly (12+13+14). Locate the two Shut Targets (not shown) according to the Non-rising Stem Gate Valve size (stem) turning distance. If the Non-rising Stem Gate Valve is opened right: Move the two Shut Targets (not shown) to the very top of the Targets Carrier Assembly (12+13+14). Locate the two Open Targets (16) according to the Non-rising Stem Gate Valve size (stem) turning distance.FINAL ASSEMBLY AND TEST: Insert the Target Carrier Assembly (12+13+14) back into the Top Section (20) by rotating the Operating Nut (19) clockwise. Rotate until the Open Target (16) is centered in the window of the Body (10) which corresponds with the Non-rising Stem Gate Valve being in the open position. Lower the Top Section (20) with Target Carrier Assembly (12+13+14) onto the Body (10), assuring that the Stem (9) engages with the Operating Nut (19) at least 2 inches but no more than 4.5 inches. Secure the Top Section (20) to the Body (10) by tightening the Cap Screw (24) and Square Nut (23). Close the Non-rising Stem Gate Valve and make sure that the Shut Target (not shown) is properly centered in the window of Body (10) and adjust as necessary.MAINTENANCE: Oil on the bearing in the Top Section (20) at least once per year by adding several drops of oil in the hole located on the top of the Operating Nut (19).

Reattach the Top Section to the top of Indicator Post Assembly

GENERAL

GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS

These terms and conditions shall control with respect to any purchase order or sale of Sellers products. No waiver, alteration or modification of these terms and conditions whether on Buyers purchase order or otherwise shall be valid unless the waiver, alteration or modification is specifically accepted in writing and signed by an authorized representative of Seller.

DELIVERYSeller will make every effort to complete delivery of products as indicated on Sellers acceptance of an order, but Seller assumes no responsibility or liability, and will accept no back charge, for loss or damage due to delay or inability to deliver caused by acts of God, war, labor difficulties, accident, delays of carriers, by contractors or suppliers, inability to obtain materials, shortages of fuel and energy, or any other causes of any kind whatsoever beyond the control of Seller. Seller may terminate any contract of sale of its products without liability of any nature, by written notice to Buyer in the event that the delay in delivery or performance resulting from any of the aforesaid causes shall continue for a period of sixty (60) days. Under no circumstances shall Seller be liable for any special or consequential damages or for loss, damage, or expense (whether or not based on negligence) directly or indirectly arising from delays or failure to give notice of delay.

WARRANTYSeller warrants for one year from the date of shipment Sellers manufactured products to the extent that Seller will replace those having defects in material or workmanship when used for the purpose and in the manner which Seller recommends. If Sellers examination shall disclose to its satisfaction that the product is defective, and an adjustment is required, the amount of such adjustment shall not exceed the net sales price of the defective products only and no allowance will be made for labor or expense of repairing or replacing defective product or workmanship or damage resulting from the same. No adjustment shall be implemented unless product in question is returned to seller in its originally installed condition, still connected to other components of the joint. Buyer must contact Seller as quickly as possible so Seller can assess product in its installed condition. No claims will be honored unless claim is made within forty five (45) days of the defect being found. Where engineering design or fabrication work is supplied, Buyers acceptance of Sellers design or of delivery of work shall relieve Seller of all further obligation, other than expressed in Sellers product warranty. THIS IS SELLERS SOLE WARRANTY. SELLER MAKES NO OTHER WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED AND ALL IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE WHICH EXCEED SELLERS AFORESTATED OBLIGATION ARE HEREBY DISCLAIMED BY SELLER AND EXCLUDED FROM THIS WARRANTY. Seller neither assumes, nor authorizes any person to assumefor it, any other obligation in connection with the sale of its engineering designs or product. This warranty shall not apply to any products or parts of products which (a) have been repaired or altered outside of Sellers factory, in any manner; (b) have been subjected to misuse, negligence or accidents; (c) have been used in a manner contrary to Sellers instructions or recommendations. Seller shall not be responsible for design errors due to inaccurate or incomplete information supplied by Buyer or its representatives. This warranty is non-transferable.

LIABILITYSeller will not be liable for any loss, damage, cost of repairs, incidental or consequential damages of any kind, whether based upon warranty (except for the obligation accepted by Seller under Warranty above), contract or negligence, arising in connection with the design, manufacture, sale, use or repair of the products or of the engineering designs supplied to Buyer.

RETURNSSeller cannot accept return of any products unless its written permission has been first obtained, in which case same will be credited subject to the following: (a) All material returned must, on its arrival at Sellers plant, be found to be in first-class condition; if not, cost of putting in saleable condition will be deducted from credit memoranda; (b) A handlin charge deduction of twenty-five percent (25%) will be made from all credit memoranda issued for material returned; (c ) Transportation charges, if not prepaid will be deducted from credit memoranda.

SHIPMENTSAll products sent out will be carefully examined, counted and packed. The cost of any special packing or special handle caused by Buyers requirements or requests shall be added to the amount of the order. No claim for shortages will be allowed unless made in writing within ten (10) days of receipt of a shipment. Claims for products damaged or lost in transit should be made on the carrier, as Sellers responsibility ceases, and title passes, on delivery to the carrier.

PRODUCTSOrders covering special or non-standard products are not subject to cancellation except on such terms as Seller may specify on application.

PRICESPrices and designs are subject to change without notice. All prices are F.O.B. Point of Shipment, unless otherwise stated.

TAXESThe amount of any sales, excise or other taxes, if any, applicable to the products covered by this order, shall be added to the purchase price and shall be paid by Buyer unless Buyer provides Seller with an exemption certificate acceptable to the taxing authorities.
