CAUSE AND EFFECTThe cause is why an event happens and the effect

is what happens.- Ben lives because Brady continued his search.- Karana was in danger so she built a fence

around her shelter.- The clouds poured rain because of Rose’s

touching song.- Because he pitched so well, Satchel Paige

played Pro Baseball for many years.- Because of teamwork and organization, the

railroad team shredded the previous record of 7 miles built in a day.

- People that confront challenges achieve amazing things.

SEQUENCESequence refers to the order in which the events happen. In nonfiction, it means the steps in a process.-Can you put the events from a story into a chronological (putting events in the order in which they happen) sequence?-Pick a story from Unit 1 and put 5 events from that story in chronological order. Recreate an abridged version of the story in a mini-book using only your 5 events.
