Recces Recces is a military term that has been borrowed

by media production, it refer to pre-filming visit to a location to work about suitability for shooting. Including access to necessary facilities and assessment for any potential lighting or sound issues. And this is closely related to location scouting. The term “recces” is also used in radio and television. This is very important when it comes to producing a new media product.

Location scouting Location scouting is a vital process in the pre-

production stage of film making and commercial photography. Once scriptwriters, producers and directors have decided what general kind of scenery they require for the various parts of their work that is shot outside of the studio. Location scouts also look for generally spectacular or interesting locations before hand.

Emails/letters to organisations and professionals or experts in your chosen field In order to have a successful media production

you need the right people and right equipment to make it successful. The producers need to contact certain people to make the programme happen, For example A documentary about wildlife, you need producers to find the location, make sure its ok for the company to film the animals and many other important points. You would need to make sure you have wildlife experts/ gate keepers and researchers.

Employment agencies In order for this programme to be

promoted. Employment agencies offer people jobs. These agencies will find all the people who are needed to make this certain programme. Employment agencies help companies find people to help the production of the product. For example acting agencies will help young or actors in need for a job, or camera operators.

Treatments A treatment is a short story narrative written in

simple, non-technical language ( no camera angles, transitions), the treatment evokes how and audience will experience from the film on the screen. You should only write a treatment after conducting the initial research.

law original material cant be used to someone else's name. another issue media faces is discrimination of race, sex and disability. Health and safety is massive part to any making or production of either television programme or film, health and safety advisors are put in place to help actors and the production team stay safe while making the product. Risk assessments are also carried out. Employee rights is where all employees have there own rights and have to follow the rights put into place.
