WISHES AND IMAGINARY SITUATIONS
• Wishes are imaginary situations or events in the present or in the future
• The structure of sentences with wishes is using WISH + PAST FORM or IF + PAST FORM OF THE VERB + VERB for Imaginary situations
• I wish I had a car, I don’t have my own car
• I wish I traveled around the world
COULD HAVE / WOULD HAVE
• Expresses regret over inability to do something (Physical or Mental). Like a lost opportunity.
• Expresses dissatisfaction and emphasizes someone’s unwillingness to do something.
Examples
• I wish my house could have had a bigger pool.
• I wish my house would have had a bigger pool.
