How to Write an Invitation Card One of the duties of a secretary is to write a card inviting the guests

and some other important people to take part in activities held by the company. In a formal invitation card, the following information needs to be indicated: (1) the name of the sender of the card; (2) the name of the receiver of the card; (3) the occasion; (4) the place; (5) the date and time; and sometimes, (6) the telephone number of the sender.

Invitation cards are used for various occasions, such as inviting somebody to a ceremony, a celebration, or just a dinner. If you want to make sure whether the person(s) will come, you may write “R.S.V.P.” (a shortened form in French that means “Please reply”) at the lower left corner.
