We Welcome All!

We extend a welcome as broad as the outstretched arms of God,

who calls us together to pray, sing,

and rejoice in God’s glorious presence.

From the tallest to the smallest we worship best as the whole people of God.

Today we welcome children to participate fully in worship,

and are grateful for our youth singing in choir

and helping with the Easter egg hunt.

Please see the blue resource folder for more information on our full compliment of

children’s and youth ministry.

We value community!

Please wear a nametag; temporary stickers are available and you

may request a permanent nametag anytime.

Visitors, please sign the fellowship pads in the pews.

Raising Jesus from the dead.

Today, the tomb of death

Becomes the birth place of new life.

WORDS OF WELCOME

PRAYER OF CONFESSION Josh Fitterling (9 am)

Megan Snell (11 am)

God of all glory, you are the light of the hearts that seek you, and the life of the

souls that love you.

We rejoice in worship today, grateful for one another, for our church and for your

forgiving, transforming love.

The joyful news of our Easter faith contrasts with the difficult news of our confused

and broken world.

Page 4: United Church of Christ · 2020-03-30 · Welcome to Worship at Wellesley Village Church! An Open & Affirming Congregation of the United Church of Christ We Welcome All! We extend

In silence now, we confess our need for your light that shines in every

darkness, and our longing for your love that is stronger than death. (silence)

God of mercy, we confess our own need for your grace and love, and we confess

on behalf of others:

The terrified and trembling, the grieving and groaning, the sad and lonely, the

hungry and hurting.

We confess our privilege,

And the possibilities that lie dormant in each of us, were we to truly awaken to

give our lives for others as you have done. (silence)

God of Resurrection, on this Easter day, we seek to be your faithful people.

Grant that we may be blessed anew with the joyful life you offer. Through the

life, death, and resurrection of Jesus, inspire us to love more fully and to live as

servants, bringing peace, hope and healing to the world in every way we can.

In Jesus’ name,

Amen.

RESPONSIVE ALLELUIA Jodi Hitzhusen

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name,

Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses

as we forgive those who trespass against us.

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

For thine is the kingdom, and the power,

and the glory, forever. Amen.

drop, or a drink of water, please ask an Usher to help you. The Ushers are in the back of the

Sanctuary.

Share the Joy of Easter by Delivering an Easter Plant!

delivered today or during the week. After worship, please go to the chancel to receive a name and

address. After the 9am service, plants will be taken from Burtt Chapel; after the 11am service,

plants will be taken from the chancel. Thank you for helping to share the Good News of Easter!

Many thanks to all the people who helped decorate the church this Easter season!
