How do I get INVOLVED!
Were do I fit?The key to success is to choose opportunities that match your
skills, interests and availability. In addition to carefully reading the opportunity description and other information provided by the
organization, we recommend you consider the following:
Type of organization• Would you like to support a community-based grassroots organization, a national or
international NGO, a local government or HEARTLAND PRIDE?
Development topic• Is there a cause you would like to support? Is there an area that you would like to
explore or gain some experience in.
Time commitment• How much time per week would you like to devote to volunteering ? Would you like to
get involved in a long-term project, or would you rather commit to a short-term assignment with a fixed end date?
Task & Skills• What tasks do you enjoy undertaking? What skills would you like to share with an
organization?.
GET INVOLVED• Sign up with the volunteer form online at
www.heartlandpride.com/get-involved. (this is just as important for volunteering as it is for grant funding..thank you for doing this)
• Pick area to work or try something and go from there.
• Get involved in the meetings. Check with your committee Chair for dates and times. 1st and 3rd Wednesday at the Downtown Library for progress briefings.
• Let us know if your company has a volunteer program so we can sign up.
• HAVE FUN AND MEET GREAT PEOPLE!
SINCERELY HEARTLAND PRIDE
THANK YOU!
