Universal DesignAn educational framework that is based on research.
Universal Design for learning means having a specific concept that needs to be learned but adapting the teaching strategy for different types of learners.
This focuses on the individual student and not the class as a whole.
There are three different principles.
Principle IProvide multiple means of representation.
Guidelines:Provide options for perception.
Provide options for language and symbols.
Provide options for comprehension.
Principle IIProvide multiple means of actions and expression.
Guidelines:Provide options for physical action.
Provide options for expressive skills and fluency.
Provide options for executive functions.
Principle IIIMultiple means of engagement.
Guidelines:Provide options for recruiting interest.
Provide options for sustaining effort and persistence.
Provide options for self-regulation.
