PÖTT INGER TERRASEM Universal seed drills
T E R R A S E M C 6 / C 8 The big trailed direct seed drills – huge productivity with working widths of 19.7‘ or 26.3‘ / 6 or 8 metres
The new TERRASEM drills from Pöttinger with
the unique tyre packer chassis are both compact
and manoeuvrable. These universal machines can
be used for both mulch drilling and conventional
sowing.
TERRASEM C6 and C8 seed drills handle the
tillage, consolidation and seeding stages in a
single pass at working widths of 19.7‘ or 26.3‘ /
6 or 8 m. In addition to precise seed grain place-
ment – thanks to the parallelogram-guided double
coulters with trailed depth rollers – these machines
deliver contour ground tracking, central coulter

pressure adjustment between 88 and 265 lbs /
40 and 120 kg per coulter and a high volume
seed tank.

Mounting – refined and rapid
The linkage bar has double
mounting lugs Cat. II/2 and III/3. A
heavy-duty rotary joint with axial
compensation between the link-
age bar and the drawbar provides
clearance for a turning angle of
up to 90° even with dual wheels
or high flotation terra tyres. If re-
quired, the length of the draw-
bar can be adjusted by approx.
20” / 50 cm. Two parking legs and
pipe support are standard.

Twin-gang, smooth running disc harrow fitted with 46 or 60 discs. This universal harrow is n
also good on heavy soil with large quantities of harvest trash. The maintenance-free, rubber-
mounted 20.1“ / 510 mm diameter discs loosen the soil on the surface providing a layer of fine-
structured earth at seed placement depth.
The depth of the first gang can be adjusted independently of the second gang. The harrow discs n
are mounted on twin-race taper bearings. The bearings are sealed and maintenance-free.
Conventional drills desig ned for
small to medium-sized farming
operations are almost exclusive-
ly hitch-mounted. The result:
heavy loading of the tractor‘s
rear axle, or where separate
chassis is used, an extended
operating length. Soil damage
due to compaction becomes
largely unavoid able. The new
TERRASEM from Pöttinger is
different: with its unique tyre
packer chassis it is both com-
pact and manoeuvr able.
This universal machine can be
used for both mulch drilling and
conventional sowing.
Mulch seed drills
Leading tillage tools for precise operationProfessionals expect a level seedbed with fine soil on top for uniform seed germination and plant
growth. That is why Pöttinger offers a twin-gang compact disc harrow for soil preparation.
The central section is fixed and the folding outer sections are each approx. 4’ 11” or 8’ 2” / n
1.5 or 2.5 metres wide.
Non-stop trip leg system n
Each disc is mounted on a thick-walled box section beam (SG 50). Four rubber elements
enable the discs to evade stones and rocks.
This non-stop trip leg system is completely maintenance-free! n
TERRASEM
A combined packer chassis unit
(instead of a separate transport
chassis) considerably shortens
the length of the machine.
The advantages are improved
manoeuvrability and reduced
weight.
Unique tyre packer chassis The chassis is fi tted with wide tyres to consolidate the soil, each tyre pressing ahead of 4 seed n
rows.
To protect the soil the machine is supported by all the wheels at headlands. The chassis frame n
always remains at the same height, only the disc harrow and seed coulter rails are lifted. On
the road the machine is transported on four wheels, the two wheels in the middle are raised to
improve stability.
The transport wheels can be fi tted with hydraulic or air brakes to ensure safe, reliable braking n
even at speeds of up to 25 mph / 40 kph.

Seed tank The cavernous longitudinal seed tank with roll over cover holds 660 gal / 3000 litres on the C6, n
and 880 gal / 4000 l on the C8.
The tank can be fi lled using a loader bucket, Big-Bags or auger. n
As an option, the C6 can be increased to 3800 litres and the C8 to 5000 litres. n
The standard loading platform makes it easy to open the tank cover and check the progress n
of fi lling.
Valuable seed demands cost-
effective operating systems.
Allthe seed has to be distributed
accurately, seed rates from
2.2 to 268 lbs / 1.0 to 122 kg
per acre or from 5.5 to 662 lbs /
2,5 kg to 300 kg per hectare.
The TERRASEM metering system
is designed for precise seed
distribution.
Exact seed flow-rates regard-
less of the type of seed or the
working conditions.
Metering system – for highest possible precision
The C6 has one metering system and the C8 has two. The metering wheels for normal or fine seed
and the gear wheel drive mechanism can be changed quickly and easily to match seed flow rate.
The seed wheel is electronically driven and controlled from the tractor via a radar sensor or an
ISOBUS signal. Infinitely vari-
able adjustment of seed quantity,
auto matic engagement of seed
metering wheel, with priming.
Easy calibration with a practical
collection bag and the calibration
flap is monitored by sensors.
An outlet slide ensures that all the
seed is discharged from the hop-
per when emptying.
8
High-performance fan
The oversized fan is driven hydraulically and delivers a high volume of air in the mid-speed range, n
so there is little noise during operation.
The high air volume means the fan speed can fluctuate without affecting the accuracy of seed n
metering.
Large distributor heads
The C6 model has one distributor head with 48 outlets, the C8 has two with 32 outlets each. The n
seed is fed to the distributor head evenly via the riser tube for optimum distribution to the individual
rows. Seed flow monitoring for each row is available as an option.
A servo motor shuts off the tramlines electronically. Valves on the distributor shut off up to 3 seed n
rows for each tramline. The excess seed is returned to the riser tube and the seed flow rate is
reduced, achieving seed savings of up to 6%.

10
Coulter rail for perfect sowing
Double disc coulters
All the disc coulters are guid-
ed by coulter press wheels to
ensure uniform seed depth.
Seed depth is adjusted cen-
trally and coulter pressure
is adjusted hydraulically be-
tween 88 and 265 lb / 40 and
120 kg. Maintenance-free
mounting of the coulters via
rubber dampers provides op-
timum freedom of movement.
11
The disc coulter has a long
tradition in seed drill process
technology as a cutting and
opening tool and is the most
important instrument for
precision seed placement.
The three-part design ensures perfect ground
tracking over a maximum working width.
The folding disc harrow, packer and coulter rail elements follow the contours of the ground. n
Freedom of movement upwards is unlimited while downwards an angle of up to 4° is n
possible.
These elements are preloaded using nitrogen accumulators to provide equal pressure n
distribution over the whole working width.
Ensures harrowing over the entire area. n
The coulter pressure is set by pre-loading a hydraulic cylinder. n

TERRASEM
Ground hugging
Four-bar linkage between coulter rail and coulter press wheel
Excellent ground hugging as a result of contour tracking by the coulter press wheel and the n
pressure set on the coulter unit.
Coulter arms on the coulter rail are the same length – despite changes in ground contour the n
coulters maintain 100% even coulter pressure.
13
Optimum ground hugging
Individual coulter units are fi tted to the packer wheel frame by a 3-point mounting
Coulter units can track the ground contours n
Four-bar linkage between coulter rail and coulter press wheel
Ensures accurate ground tracking in direction of travel n
Coulter pressure set by pre-loading the cylinder
Central coulter pressure adjustment n
Double disc coulters are guided by wide press wheels
Accurate, uniform seed placement and depth n
Central depth adjustment by turning the coulter rail – with integral ratchet n
Two coulter press wheel arrangement options
Centrally over seed slot or shifted laterally by 0.8 inches / 20 mm n
14
Intelligent control
TERRASEM C6 and C8 standard specification are equipped for tractors with ISOBUS.
The seed wheel is electronically driven, distance measurement is by radar sensor or tractor
signal.
Two control boxes are available if the tractor does not have ISOBUS.
