DSRIP

“Delivery System Reform Incentive Payments” This program is part of an 1115 Medicaid Waiver approved for Texas by CMS that provides for payments for successful achievement of specific metrics and milestones during each year. The existing Texas Medicaid Waiver runs from October 1, 2011 through September 30, 2016. University Health System has 26 waiver projects, one of which include palliative care.

Our Palliative Care team at University Hospital hosts a palliative care lecture series: Primary Palliative Care Education Series PPCES talks featuring important educational "pieces" of patient care. This series is designed to offer education in palliative medicine to all specialties and disciplines and offers free CME and lunch. It is held on the 3rd Thursday of the month in the University Hospital Foundation Room from noon-1:00pm and all talks are recorded for learning all year round. Our talks highlight palliative aspects of your specialty including communication strategies, interdisciplinary needs of patients and their families, and palliation of symptoms.
