PROCEDURE FOR THE 2016/2017 ACADEMIC SESSION MEDICAL EXAMINATION AND CLINIC REGISTRATION FORNEWLY ADMITTED STUDENTS.

DATE: Monday 7th NOVEMBER – Friday 16th DECEMBER 2016 (6 WEEKS)

VENUE: 1. Main Campus Clinic (Faculty of Agriculture Arts, Engineering, Management Sciences, Science,Veterinary Medicine, College of Health Science; Departments of Biology, Microbiology,Mathematics, Statistics and Computer Science).

2. Mini Campus Clinic (Faculty of Education, Law, Social Sciences; Departments of Physics andChemistry).

TIME: 9:00am – 2:00 pm (Mondays-Fridays).

PROCEDURE

1. Download student medical history and screening form from the university portal2. Fill the part 1 of the form3. Take the filled form to a recognized government hospital where a qualified medical doctor will complete part

II of the form4. Bring the filled and duly signed form to the University Medical Centre.5. Present evidence of payment of school fees to the finance officer6. Go to the medical records office with

i. Three (3) passport size photographsii. Chest X-ray film and reportiii. Results of laboratory investigationiv. Filled and signed medical history and screening form

7. Proceed to the consulting room8. collect your clinic hand card from the medical records office

NOTE: This card is non – reissuable; which means that you use only one card during your stay in the University.Bring it always to the clinic any time you feel sick or need to consult a Doctor. You are advised to keep it safe.

PORTAL MANAGEMENT INFORMATIONOnline Payment/Registration step by step guidelines

ADMISSION INTO UNDERGRADUATE DEGREE PROGRAMMES FOR2016/2017 ACADEMIC SESSION

The general public is hereby informed that the list of successful candidates admitted into theUndergraduate programmes of University of Abuja is now out and can be accessed from theUniversity Portal: www.unibuja.com or www.uniabuja.edu.ng. Candidates are advised to payTwo Thousand Naira only being payment for notification of admission fee and other fees throughREMITA Platform into Treasury Single Account (TSA) of University of Abuja’s Sub Account atCBN from any Bank nationwide. Obtain a Remita Retrieval Reference (RRR) numbers from theBank and visit the University Web-portal above to check your admission status or using the ATMDebit/Credit Card number (MasterCard, Verve, Visa) and Amount for payment by clicking ‘Paywith REMITA’ button on the University Portal, generate Remita Retrieval Reference numbers. Ifthe candidate is admitted, print the Notification of Admission letter and other Screeningdocuments provided on the University Portal and bring them for the University normal Screeningexercise. Please, note that new Entrants shall resume on 6th November, 2016.

ONLINE REGISTRATION PROCEDURE:Instruction: Candidates should carefully read these instructions and follow ALL necessary steps,

as “mistake(s)” may lead to disqualification.

STEP 1: Checking of Admission Status, Payment for Notification of Admission fee andScreening Charge

Candidate is expected to visit www.unibuja.com or www.unibuja.edu.ng to checktheir admission status free effective from 6th November, 2016. All newly admittedstudents are to pay non-refundable N2000 for Notification of Admission andN2,500 for Screening Charge to print the Notification letter and other screeningdocuments. If not admitted, Candidate will receive message: “You have not beenadmitted yet.” If admitted, proceed to pay for the Notification of Admission fee(N2,000) and Screening Charge (N2,500) lumped together (N4,500) to printNotification of admission letter and Receipt, College/Faculty Screening,Academic Planning Screening Certificate, Student Medical History andScreening Form, Payment Procedure, Hostel Accommodation Information,Approved Academic Calendar, Portal Management Information, ManagementInformation Systems’ Brief, Matriculation Oath, Payment and RegistrationCheck List and Web-Portal User’s Application Form.

4 Enter your UTME Reg No/Application No. do not enter anything in Pin Number, Clickon Pay with Remita

5 If not admitted, Message will be: Not admitted yet. If Admitted, it displays “AdmissionChecking Fee Amount”

6 Click “proceed” and wait for a moment , Transaction details will pop-up. Click“Proceed to Gateway” that will display your Remita Retrival Reference (RRR)Number and Remita Payment selection page below.

7 Choose “Pay Now with Cards or Wallet” (This is the best, fastest and therecommended payment option)

8 Click on “Print Invoice” to Print out the Remita Invoice9 Click on Card Icon as displayed under “Pay now with Cards or Wallet” on the portal,

supply the ATM Card details.10 Click on “Payment”11 After making payment, print the entire screening document listed on the page.

STEP 2: Printing of Notification of AdmissionLog on to www.unibuja.com, Click on Admission module, Select AdmissionNotification. Enter Jamb Registration number and the Remita Retrieval Reference(RRR) numbers issued at Bank or Self-generated for payment of Notification ofAdmission. You will be provided with numerous links such as Fresh UndergraduatePayments and Registration Information Package and list of various IndividualForms in case of optional printout. Click on them to PRINT: Notification ofAdmission Letter, Academic Planning Screening Certificate, College/FacultyScreening Certificate, University Web-Portal User’s Application Form,Medical Examination Forms, Registrar’s Announcement, Remita PaymentProcedures, Hostel Accommodation Information, Approved AcademicCalendar for the 2016/2017 Session, Portal Management Information andManagement Information System Brief, Matriculation Oath, Payment andRegistration Check List from the links provided on the web-Portal page.

STEP 3: Candidates are therefore advised to move into their various College/Faculty forverification of credentials. Credentials expected to be verified includes: JAMBResult Slip, Ordinary Level (SSCE, GCE, Grade II etc.) Certificate/Statement ofresult, Certificate of Birth/Declaration of Age, Certificate of Local GovernmentOrigin, Letter of Undertaking from Parent/Guardian that the student will be of good

behavior while in the University and Twelve (12) passport-size photographs. Aftersuccessful screening by the FACULTY/DEPARTMENT SCREENING OFFICERas the case may be, obtain a MATRICULATION NUMBER and other admissioninstructions. Then proceed to pay school fees.

STEP 4: PAYMENT OF FEES (Newly admitted and Returning Undergraduate,Remedial and Postgraduate Students)

1. Log on to www.unibuja.com2. Click on “Undergraduate”, “Postgraduate” (as the case may be)3. Click on “Student login”4. Enter your matriculation number/UTME number as your USERNAME and input

“password” as your PASSWORD and submit (a new case)5. Click on “My fees”6. Click on “Pay your fees”7. Click on “School fees” then click on “Add selected item on my fee list” then click

on “confirm payment”8. Click on “Remita” then click on “pay now”9. Confirm your names and click on “proceed”10. A page will display, write down your reference number (for problem solving)11. Click on “proceed to gateway”12. Your Remita Retrieval Reference (RRR) number will be displayed (write it down )

then click “Print invoice”13. Use “Pay now with cards or wallet” payment options (this is the best recommended

STEP 5: Log-onto the University Portal and Update Profile: After payment of schoolfees through REMITA platform from any of these channels of payment. Studentsare expected to visit www.unibuja.com or www.uniabuja.edu.ng log-in with theirMatriculation Number as User Name and password as their Password then, clickon submit button then confirm and update your profile especially, inputMatriculation Number, Date of Birth, other information and change the initialpassword to a new password known to and easily memorize them personally.

STEP 6: Still on My Profile Tab, Update Personal Details Form by clicking on Edit button.Supply correct details about you as required. Ensure that the email address andphone number supplied are valid, functional and personal for furthercorrespondence and short messages. Students should review their CompletedPersonal Detail Form before submission.

Student must upload his/her head shot photograph with two ears appearing on whitebackground of 5cm 5cm without glasses, cap or headgear. The size of such imagesmust not exceed 50kb.

Student must scan and upload his/her signature in a JPEG image format and submit.

Click on “UPDATE” to save the changes you have made or entered on yourPERSON DETAIL Form and print a copy.

STEP 7: Course Registration and Time-table: Visit your web account on the UniversityPortal, Click Course Registration to register for the Courses as listed by theDepartment for 2016/2017 Academic Session of your chosen Course of Study.Lecture Time-table is available in every Department. Kindly copy it for your use.

STEP 8: Medical Centre Registration: All new Entrants including (PG and Remedial)should download the medical laboratory test forms and print online Receipt take italong with you to the Medical Centre for the Medical examination and ClinicRegistration.

STEP 9: Library Registration: Students should go to the Library for the use of LibraryRegistration. Library Officers have been designated to attend to Students. Though,e-Library integration is on-going but Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC) isactive on the University Portal where students and Researchers can further researchwork. Click <Library>, then click <OPAC> you will be exposed to many researchsites for explores.

STEP 10: FRESH STUDENT MATRICULATION CEREMONY AND ORIENTATIONPROGRAMME have been slated for 9th January, 2017. All newly admittedstudents are advised to ensure compliance, attend and punctual.

STEP 11: Collect Original Offer of Provisional Admission Letter from the College/Faculty.Then, open six (6) file jackets, make six (6) photocopies of listed documents belowand put them into each of those file jackets. The documents includes OnlinePersonal Detail Form, Original Offer of Provisional Admission Letter from theUniversity, Notification of Admission Letter, Academic Planning ScreeningCertificate, College/Faculty/ Screening Certificate, Online School fees Receipt,Hostel Accommodation Booking Approval, Bed space Allocation Slip, JAMBResult Slip, JAMB’s Offer of Provisional Admission Letter, Ordinary Level(SSCE, GCE, Grade II e.t.c.) Certificate/Statement of Results, Certificate of

Submit those files to Registry-Academic Division, AcademicPlanning Unit, Student Affairs Office, College/Faculty, Department, and Bursaryfor records. New entrants should provide and submit new scratch cards along withtheir file to the Faculty for onward transmission to the Academic Planning Unit forauthentication of their O’level Results.

STEP 14: Closing Date: Registration should be duly completed and processed not later thanThree weeks from the date of commencement (i.e. 27th November, 2016 – 23rd

Management Information System (MIS) is a service unit or a hub to the University in general as itprovides services to the Academic and Administrative arms of the University. The Unit is under thewatch of the Vice-Chancellor headed by The University Systems Administrator. The Unit manages dataof the prospective candidates, newly admitted students, returning students and staff data for provenintegrity of such data. Also, mandated to domesticate all fees for the University programmes, providesand manages all University websites, Portals and related assignments.

Below are the tips for easy University Portal usage. The University Portal and website addresses arewww.unibuja.com and www.uniabuja.edu.ng those addresses leads to the University of Abuja’s Portal.The websites are interactive and friendly. It allows Guest, Student and Staff to explore and collectrequired details/statistical information about the University.

STUDENT ONLINE REGISTRATION TIPS

1) NEWLY ADMITTED STUDENTS REGISTRATION

Notification of Admission

Candidate is expected to visit www.unibuja.com or www.unibuja.edu.ng to print their admissionnotification. There are two options available for payment.

a. With the Application Number and the Remita Retrieval Reference numbers obtained fromthe bank for printing Notification of Admission, Screening certificate and other documents.

b. With the Application Number and ATM debit/credit Card Number (MasterCard, Verve,Visa) and Amount to self-generate Remita Retrieval Reference numbers (RRR). This is doneby clicking on the ‘Pay with REMITA’ button on the University Portal. Then, assign theJamb Registration Number and the Remita Retrieval Reference numbers that was self-generated for printing Notification of Admission, Screening certificate and other documents.

How to make Payment and RegistrationEnter your MATRICULATION NUMBER which is your Username

Enter your password – i.e. the word: password (in small letter only).

The Click <SUBMIT>

1. After a first successful Login, read through the terms and click <I Agree>

2. A fee payment page would appear, displaying your details (NAMES, MATRICULATION

NUMBER, SEX AND YEAR OF STUDY-): you will also see your present session which is

displayed as 2016/2017 Session

3. Click on <Pay your Fees> (on the top tight corner of the page): select the item – “School Fees”

then click <Add selected items to My Feed list>. Click <Confirm Payment>

4. Then click on the button beside, “PIN”, Click <Pay Now>. (At this point, the amount you paid

as school fees would be displayed.

5. Once the page has loaded, click on <Pay Now>, then Click <OK> twice. A text box would now

be displayed where the Remita Retrieval Reference numbers (RRR) (obtained from the bank or

self-generated) should be entered: enter your RRR carefully and then click <PAY>. If you entered

the RRR correctly, a message would be displayed that would read: PIN Payment Successful?

6. Click <Finish>

Please NOTE that once your payment is successful, you will be taken directly to your personalized

school portal page and you are required to change your password and update your personal details

before you do anything on the portal

How to update Personal details:

Click on <Click to edit your personal data form> at the top right hand corner of the page Upload your

password and fill in your personal data. State of origin, Date of Birth, etc and click <Update> at the

top right hand corner. You are required to fill all fields on the page|

Please note that change will not be saved until you click <update>

2. RETURNING STUDENT REGISTRATION

1. Enter your MATRICULATION NUMBER which is your Username

2. Enter your personal password OR if your Account has been deactivated, it should be the word

password (in small letters only). Then Click <LOGIN>

Course Registration

The My Registration sub-module enables the student register courses for the current session or semester.

The student must not exceed the recommended maximum number of credit unit for the semester as stated

on the guidance notes. This sub-module also consists of four features namely: change Semester/Session,

(Register a Course) Add more course, Save and Submit Registration.

Changing a semester or Session

The Change Semester/Session feature enables you move to another semester or session in order to

register course for that semester/session. To change semester or session, do the following:

1. Log in as a student in the Login page to display the modules which you can access on the portal

2. From My School, select My Registration

3. The system displays the Course Registration page, containing the course which you are required

to take, during each of the semesters of the current session.

4. Click on the Change Semester or Change Session button to display the Change Session or

Semester page.

5. Select the application session “2016/2017” from the Select Session dropdown list.

6. Select the level of study from the Select level of Study dropdown list

7. Click on Change to display the selected session course to be registered and the total number of

units for the session/session.

To add more courses to the elective courses, click on Add more courses to display the page

8. Enter the code of the courses which you want to add to the session or semester in the course code

field, and click on search.

9. The system displays the code, title, and credit units of the course on the gird.

10. Then, check the check box beside this added course, and click on Add Selected Courses

11. The Added course is saved to the system: and also, displayed in the Elective Courses panel.

12. Also, the total number of units for the semester/Session is increased.

Note: if the maximum number of credit for the semester/session is exceeded, the system displays a

message indicating this.

13. Click on the Submit Registration button to submit.

14. After submitting and you notice a mistake, click Reset, log out and re-log again so you may do a

fresh registration.

Note: You may click on the Save button to save the registration process if you do not want to submit the

form immediately.

ADD/DROP Form

Add & Drop Form is provided on the Portal at a cost for student to add or delete a course already

registered due to numerous reasons as approved by the Head of Department and Course Level

Coordinator.

STUDENT COMPLAINT MANAGEMENT:Should you have any difficulty on the online Payment & Registration processes, report to any of oursupport centres at the Main Campus Library or at the Mini Campus (Computer Centre). Also, you maysend your complain by email to [email protected] or/and [email protected]

1. Adhere to those instructions emanated from University calendar produced by the AcademicPlanning most especially concerned academic services related to the use of University Portalbecause errant might not be tolerated or condoned.

2. At first entry into the University Portal, click on My School then click on My Profile, changepassword and update your profile.

3. Guard your user name and password jealously and maintain privacy on your web page.4. Fresh and Returning students are to fill in their correct and comprehensive bio-data as requested

by the Portal system, register for appropriate courses, as well as upload their current passport sizephotographs on white background, valid phone number and their actual signature on the Portal.

5. Self-manage your online reputation and integrity because ignorance is not an excuse in cyber law.6. Pay close attention to reading the Notice Boards provided in strategic places in the Department,
