Private accommodationAlthough we encourage our students to choose UNIC recommended accommodation, we understand not everyone wants to live in a student residence, therefore we also provide students with information that will help them research their options.

Northampton has many letting agents specialising in student accommodation. The Student LETS Team in the Students’ Union provides a service to assist you in finding your house or flat. Find out more at northamptonstudentpad.co.uk/accommodation

On-campus accommodationThere are often on-campus rooms available for UNIC students depending on availability. Please contact the UNIC Accommodation Team if you want to explore this option.

Under 18sFor those students joining UNIC who are under 18 years of age, the accommodation option is to live with a family member already known to them or a host family.

UNIC works closely with Hosts International who provide homestay accommodation with local families in Northampton.

Homestays offer single rooms or twin shared rooms (for two persons travelling together), shared bathroom and use of the family home as a family member. A choice of two meal plans are available; either self-catering room only or half-board (breakfast and evening meal) which is advised for all students. Living costs. We are proud to offer excellent value for money when it comes to your cost of living. Despite being only one hour away from London, Northampton is able to offer accommodation that is significantly cheaper than many other UK locations. Guidelines from UK Visa and Immigration state that an international student living in Northampton should have at least £1,015 per month to cover their living expenses.

I have enjoyed living in halls of residence as I believe it is one of the best ways to meet people who are in the same situation as you. The rooms in Moulton are very spacious and it is a really nice environment. There are great links to the University in the week so I would definitely recommend it.
