Course Title Modern Greek Language Level 1 (autumn)
Course Content description
Level 1 assumes no previous knowledge of the language.
Did you know that it normally takes only 4-6 weeks to learn to read Greek, and that in the English language there are about 80,000 Greek words, many of which you already know? Come along and learn Modern Greek in what is perhaps the most accessible way for all learners. You will soon be able to order drinks and meals in a taverna, ask where places are as you try to find your way around, go shopping, talk at an elementary level when meeting new people, and buy tickets for the ferryboat, train or bus. Knowing some Modern Greek will open numerous doors for you whether on holiday or business. What’s more, your visit to the land which gave us philosophy, democracy and modern medicine will be even more exciting and pleasurable than before.
