Pre-Medical Honors
College with Baylor
College of Medicine
High school seniors applying to UTRGV and desiring to enter the Pre-Medical
Honors Program with Baylor College of Medicine must complete the UTRGV
application at Apply Texas and a PHC application.

Program selection criteria include: residence in South Texas; strong academic
performance; above-average standardized test scores (students must take the
SAT to be considered for entrance into the PHC); letters of recommendation from
high school teachers, counselors or administrators; interviews with UTRGV and
BCM faculty and staff; maturity; motivation and other attributes reflecting
exceptional achievement among high school students. Students who have
already graduated from high school, or those who will receive their high school
diplomas during or at the end of their freshmen year of college, are not eligible
for the program.
EMSAP—Early Medical
School Acceptance
Program
The Early Medical School Acceptance Program (EMSAP) is designed to provide a
rigorous undergraduate educational experience to ensure that students who are
economically and/or educationally disadvantaged receive the academic exposure
and preparation required to successfully pursue a medical education. Upon
acceptance to EMSAP, students will receive conditional acceptance to The
University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston (UTMB) School of Medicine, if
they complete all EMSAP requirements and graduate from The University of
Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV). EMSAP has a productive record in recruiting
talented students to attend medical school at UTMB.
UTRGV/UT-Austin
College of Pharmacy
Program
The CPP is best described as a “Pre-Pharmacy + 2 + 2” program. Students
admitted into the CPP are provided with a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA).
The MOA details the CPP requirements which include GPA, PCAT Scores,
community service, and other criteria. Students are expected to complete all
pharmacy pre-requisites at UTRGV and all contractual MOA requirements. Upon
successful completion, the CPP student applies to The University of Texas at
Austin College of Pharmacy (UTCOP) and is guaranteed an interview.
If the applicant to the UTCOP is successful in each required step, the student
matriculates to the Austin campus to complete the first two professional years of
the pharmacy curriculum, and then returns to the UTRGV Edinburg campus to
complete the professional third and fourth years of the pharmacy curriculum.
UTRGV Guerra Honors
Program
Provides capable and interested undergraduate students at UTPA a means of
enriching their college education. ACT composite of 24 or higher. SAT composite
of 1110 or higher. High school graduation in top 10%. Students will be aided in
their academic and professional ambitions.

Program
The Forty Acres Scholars Program is the premier full-ride, merit-
based scholarship for UT-Austin. Administered by the Texas Exes,
this scholarship program connects scholars with the
University’s brightest faculty and distinguished alumni.
The program seeks well-rounded students who’ve shown evidence
of academic achievement, breadth and depth of effective leadership
experiences, and a commitment to community service.

Association
Scholarships
The University of Houston Alumni Association makes sure that
needy, deserving students get financial help that allows them to be
Cougars. They gave out $232,000 in scholarships last year.
For students, both incoming and current, the Alumni Association
offers a variety of scholarships, from $500 to four years of tuition.

Houston Frontier
Fiesta Scholarship
Every year, the Frontier Fiesta Association gives scholarships to
deserving incoming freshman. These scholarships not only reward
academic achievement, but also recognize outstanding efforts in
community service.
Must submit complete application, with official transcript and
overall GPA, a 500-word essay describing your activities in your
leadership roles, and 2 letters of recommendation.

McDermott Scholars
Program
The McDermott Scholars program provides select University of
Texas at Dallas students with a rigorous and personalized education
as well as intensive extracurricular activities.
The McDermott Scholars Program covers all expenses at UT-
Dallas, in concert with a diverse array of intensive extracurricular
experiences, including internships, travel, and cultural enrichment.

UTSA Distinguished
Presidential
Scholarship
UTSA is committed to the success of its students. To recognize
student’s academic achievements in high school, UTSA offers the
Distinguished Presidential Scholarship. Qualified incoming
freshman can receive up to $24,000 for four years just by applying
to UTSA.
All qualifications are based on class ranking and/or test scores (ACT
and SAT Composite scores)

Valley Scholars
Graduate from an accredited Hidalgo County high school.
Graduate in the top 10% or with an 85 or better GPA.
Maintain a 3.25 GPA or better for any college courses completed
during high school.
Be TSI College Ready or TSI Exempt.
Submit a completed FAFSA application with the STC Financial Aid
Office.
Request Student Analysis Report to be sent to the STC Financial Aid

Station Scholarships
Students apply for all university-level scholarships through the
Apply Texas application. Scholarship deadline is December 1.
Consideration is given to academic achievement, leadership,
community service, special talents, first-generation college status,
and academic achievement under difficult circumstances.

Scholarship
The Presidential Scholarship is offered to incoming freshmen. It is
a four-year scholarship that varies from $1,000 to $14,000 per year.
Student must rank in the top 25%, have an ACT of 23 or better,
SAT of 1070 or better, and must maintain a 3.0 GPA while at
Kingsville.
