University Transfer ChecklistFollow this two-year checklist to help make transferring into a bachelor’s program easier.

First Year Checklist (0 – 45 credits)

EXPLORE transfer options and programs at Bellevue College Most students intending to complete a bachelor’s degree start their

path at Bellevue College with a transfer associate degree. Other options of transfer are available.

REVIEW majors at colleges to further your career path options. Identify subjects you are interested in and read about particular

career paths. Particular majors may require specific prerequisites.

CHOOSE an education / career path of intended study Choosing a future major or career to pursue will help guide your

decisions related to classes and degrees at BC.

CREATE an Educational Plan with your advisor Sitting down with an academic advisor helps you visualize a path

to academic success at Bellevue College and beyond.

FOLLOW Educational Plan Keep your Educational Plan close by as you register for

classes each quarter. Make sure you follow the plan, this will help you be resourceful with your time at BC.

Explore Your Transfer DestinationsEarn 90 credits at BC before you apply for admission at in-state and out-of-state destinations. 20+ Washington state public and private institutions accept one of our transfer associate degrees.

Second Year Checklist (45 – 90 credits)

BEGIN drafting personal statements Personal statements are a critical component of the university

admissions process. Bellevue College’s Writing Center can provide you with guidance.

SEARCH for and apply to scholarships Searching for—and applying to—multiple scholarships helps

reduce the increased cost of studying at a university.

SUBMIT applications to your preferred college or university

TALK with a university academic advisor Before registering for continued study within a bachelor’s degree

program, schedule a meeting with an academic advisor wherever you’ll pursue a bachelor’s degree.

APPLY for graduation Student should apply for graduation as soon as they register for

their final quarter classes.

COMPLETE additional requirements for entry into your bachelor’s degree program or new college (i.e. Housing, Orientation, Financial Aid).
