“Our school is a community where Jesus Christ is our role model and his message, the
guiding principle behind all we do.
The Gospels provide us with our influence and inspiration to develop our potential, celebrate
our talents and go forward as one community, united in faith.”
Every member of our community is called to live out our chosen virtues and create an
environment that is caring, fair and respectful so that every individual is able to fulfil their
unique potential.
Unlocking the fullness of life through faith and excellence in education
I HAVE COME THAT THEY MAY HAVE LIFE AND HAVE
IT TO THE FULL
- J O H N 10:10
Welcome to St Peter and St Paul Catholic Voluntary Academy, part of the St Thérèse of Lisieux Catholic Multi Academy Trust. We are a small and genuinely inclusive secondary school located in Lincoln.
The academy’s mission statement; ‘I have come that they may have life and have it to
the full’ provides the cornerstone for our school
community and sets us apart from other secondary
schools locally. Our ambition is to support all students
to ‘unlock the fullness of life through faith and
excellence in education’ in order to help each of them
grow in faith and make the most of their God-given
talents and ability.
At St Peter and St Paul CVA we are committed to
securing the academic success of our students, but
in addition, we work hard to nurture other equally
important aspects of life: laughter, fun, joy, celebration,
caring for others, an ability to think beyond oneself,
and the opportunity to know and love God. We
want our students to ‘have life and have it to the full’,
developing qualities that we hope will remain with
them throughout their life journey long after leaving
our school community.
Our students are wonderful individuals and they are
our ambassadors: hard-working, friendly, fun to be
with and genuinely pleasant and polite young people.
If you’d like to find out more about how we can unlock
the full potential of your child, please get in touch with
us to arrange a conversation and a look around.
I very much look forward to welcoming you personally
to St Peter and St Paul Catholic Voluntary Academy.

Fostering a Love of Learning
At our Academy students are supported by an
enthusiastic, outstanding team of staff who strive to
fully develop our young people not only academically,
but in all aspects of their personal growth as they
emerge into adulthood. Consistently using the most
up-to-date, research-driven teaching strategies,
students engage in a well-rounded learning approach
to fully unlock their potential.
Encapsulated in our teaching and learning strategies,
we put Christ at the centre with specific reference in
every lesson to the Catholic virtues that underpin our
community and bring to life our mission statement:
“I have come that they may have life and have it to the full” (John 10:10).
Our curriculum puts the core subjects of RE, English,
Mathematics and Science at the heart of the
curriculum, whilst ensuring that there is a broad range
of other subjects, including the Arts, Technology,
Humanities, Languages and Sport, available to
students at Key Stage 3, 4 and 5.
Our aspiration for each and every one of our students
that joins us is that they make excellent progress,
remain with us, and leave as well-rounded Year 13s
after having attended, and been successful at,
the Academy Sixth Form.
Teaching is consistently
good in the sixth form. Lessons are typified by high levels of challenge, effective questioning by the teacher
and students’ positive attitudes to their
studies- Ofsted Report

Nurturing Mutual Respect and Compassion
At St Peter and St Paul Catholic Voluntary Academy,
we ensure that our young people are surrounded by
excellent pastoral care in all aspects of their time with
us, so that we can provide students with more than just
academic success.
The Academy’s Lay Chaplain provides support for all
students, wherever they may be on their faith journey,
and this is aided by the links that the school has with
the Church and Parish, with Collective Worship being a
key element of our day.
In addition to the curriculum teachers, each student
has a Form Tutor and Head of House who will nurture
each young person in their care and enable them
to fulfil their potential in service of others. As your
first contact at the school, these staff will become
champions for your child.
Your child’s wellbeing is a top priority for us. To enable
and encourage our students to grow we look at how
to support them in becoming resilient, forgiving,
confident, and faith filled – so much so that we have
written these qualities into our mission statement.
Our carefully coordinated Personal Development
curriculum, undertaken by all students as part of their
studies, promotes and embeds this positive approach
to pastoral care.
“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” (Phillippians 4:13).

most memorable and enriching activities at school happen outside the classroom and beyond the formal curriculum.
