Is my degree from the city campus the same as at North Ryde?Yes. Students graduating from the city campus are Macquarie University graduates. The degree certificate and transcripts are exactly the same in the city as at North Ryde.

In addition, the academic staff are all approved by Macquarie University and many work on both campuses.

All academic staff are highly qualified with many having studied a PhD or double Master’s degree.

Can I fast-track my degree?Yes. The city campus has 3 intakes per year for our foundation and bachelor degrees meaning you can finish your undergraduate degree in 2 years.

What are the academic and English language requirements I need for the city campus?The entry requirements for the city campus are the same as North Ryde.

Can I get work experience in the city?Yes. The city campus offers temporary internships for students wishing to gain workplace experience within a business environment. Internships provide on-the-job training, practical work experience and increase your potential to obtain work in your field of study.

Can I still use the facilities at North Ryde if I study in the city campus?Yes. City campus students have access to the services and facilities located on the North Ryde campus including the sporting facilities, clubs and societies, health services and the library. The students can utilize the inter-library loan service and library facilities at other Australian Universities.

The city campus also has its own library, computer rooms and wireless internet access and state-of-the-art classroom facilities.

The City Campus experienceConveniently located above Wynyard train station, Macquarie City Campus is minutes from the Australian Stock Exchange, Martin Place and many international business headquarters.

Macquarie City Campus is also a ten minute walk from The Rocks, The Opera House and the Sydney Harbour Bridge.

Quality teachingOur academics are highly trained professionals in their fields. Lecturers have the most up-to date industry information as well as the academic credentials to ensure your success at university.

Small campus environmentSmall class sizes, with lectures capped at 50 students and tutorials at 25, enables you to develop friendships with fellow students and provides an opportunity to get to know the city campus academic and administrative staff.

On-campus libraryOur library is course-specific and provides copies of all required texts. You can borrow books, utilise computer facilities, study in allocated quiet areas and seek assistance from librarians. You can also borrow books from the Universitie’s North Ryde campus and access online resources of the University.

Computer facilitiesWe have over 100 computers in four laboratories, with an additional 30 in the campus library. There is also WiFi access. You will be given an email account and have access to high-speed wireless internet.

Academic supportWe run numerous free on-campus workshops and drop-in sessions to provide an engaging, healthy and supportive study environment.

Flexible start datesWe offer a high level of flexibility with three intakes a year for undergraduate programs. Core units are offered every session together with a select range of elective units.

With three study periods every year, there is the potential for you to fast track a bachelor degree in two years rather than the standard three.

International students are expected to enrol in a full-time load each session.
