Pericles lead the Ancient Athenians for 30 years
He was elected year after year
Athens was democratic
Only the men of Athens could participate
no women children or slaves could vote
votes were written on broken pots
if any politician the were automatically elected
there were three branches of government they were legislative, judicial, and executive
the council was in charge of day to day tasks
the Assembly's job was to solve the problems in the city
The execution branch consist of commissioners functions and miner official.

U.S legislative is split into two groups
To become president you have to follow within the rules and guidelines
Women can vote
you become a citizen at birth but you have to be eighteen or older to vote
We vote every four years and you can't be voted in after your second term (eight years
in total)
Foreign people can become a citizen after a certain amount of time in the U.S.
In the U.S. you choose if you want to go to war or not
Legislative branches are one of the main roles in U.S. politics
