I’m Cathy. This is a photo of my Uncle Jack’s house in Norfolk, in the east of England. It’s an old windmill5! There’s a big tower6 and four sails7. In the tower there are three bedrooms and a bathroom. My favourite bedroom is the one at the top8! It’s great! There are a lot of stairs and, of course, all the rooms are round9! It’s impossible to have a normal bath, shelves or wardrobes in the windmill, so Uncle Jack has got special curved furniture. Next to the windmill there’s another, new building10. It’s got Uncle Jack’s living room, dining room and kitchen. There’s nice modern furniture in the new building, but it isn’t special like the windmill.

My name’s Alex and my home is an old castle! It’s in Scotland. We’ve got three living rooms and seven bedrooms. But I’ve got two sisters and two brothers, so that’s OK! My bedroom is at the end of a long, dark corridor! There’s a lot of old furniture in the castle, but my room is very modern.
At weekends the castle is open to the public. On those days there are usually1 lots of people here. It’s better2 when there’s only our family here. It’s nice and quiet then. The castle’s got lots of corridors and stairs, and a dark basement. It isn’t scary3 – it’s our games room! There’s a big garden too. Oh – and my sister Jess’s room has got a ghost4. Her name is the White Lady. She’s very friendly!
