Dear Friends,

As we close another chapter on yet another quarter, let us face forward and anticipate the myriad of exciting modifications ahead of us.

For one, we are a day closer to the shift to our new building and I can’t wait to share it to you. I would also like to dedicate a special mention to our TEE team, who have diligently led invigorating initiatives within the office to reinforce our three core values. You will find out more about

these initiatives in the pages beyond.

You will also find that both new and familiar sections have been reintro-duced to the potpourri in this issue. As such, I hope it is with excitement you unfold your copy of Unveil, with ease you read the content and with

trust you receive our delivery of information and knowledge.

Big and exciting things are just around the corner for Reebonz! Recent-ly, the management team had to put on their construction hats and bravely head up to the rooftop of the unfinished 8-storey building at Tampines. There, they toasted to this monumental moment with our CEO, Samuel, and took part in the topping out ceremony, filling in the final pieces to signal the dawn of a new era. This was certainly an unforgettable and proud moment for all that attended!

As many of us look back on the days spent at Clifford Centre and Tai Seng, we also look forward to the first day we step foot into our new home and office at Tampines. Here’s some updates to note!

When are we moving out and moving in? We are expected to move out of our Tai Seng office building by Decem-ber 2016 and also in the same month, move in to our new office at Tampines.

Where will the new office be?Tampines North Drive 5.

What are the levels to expect in the new building? It will be an 8-storey building and these are the tentative allocation plan for the various departments:

Level 1: Production, merchandising, inbound and outbound Level 2: Warehouse Level 3: Cafe and Incubation SpacesLevel 4: Carpark Level 5: Incubation Spaces Level 6: Incubation Spaces Level 7: Corporate office Level 8: Retail space

Shuttle service and schedule: There will be a shuttle bus service from Tampines MRT station to our new office building, making multiple runs in the morning and evening.

Will there be a nearby lunchspot? Yes! In fact, there is a plan to have a cafeteria on one of the levels. But if you prefer to take a walk during lunch, IKEA Tampines would be one to consider heading to.

To find out more on what to expect at our new office, you will just have to wait till the next issue of Unveil!

Be Rewarded with 24 hours off!

Getting the work day off when it is your birthday is great but being able to choose when to get the day off within your birthday month is certainly the icing on the cake! Starting May 2016, this benefit is officially open to all global offices. Did we mention this also applies to those whose birthdays fall on the weekends and public holidays? Splendid!

The Best Things in Life are Free (Drinks!)

Well, not from a vending machine that has gone faulty but from one that is dispensing complimentary beverages for its employees - no tricks involved!

For many of us, this has been one of the best news we have had this year! This movement came as an effort to make our lives at Reebonz more exciting and most have been seen embracing this initiative enthusiastically. There is a good array of beverages to choose from - cold or warm, sweetened or creamed, the choice is yours. Our photo admin from the production team, Yusof Alsagoff, shared his drink preference, “Cold Milo, always.” Tea breaks are never the same again - get your beverage today at Level 4’s Pantry!

By ONG MIAW HUI

The Wheel of Surprises

For the ones who are turning a year older, the management has decided to add a more personalised touch to celebrating your big day. In the past, it was merely a gathering of the ‘birthday month babies’ at the pantry. However, the management now wants to bring your cake to you! Along with the Wheel of Surprises, our lovely team heads to every department to wish the celebrants and presents each of them with a cupcake and a song. The wheel then comes into play and every celebrant will walk away with a prize, which will change from time to time. If your birthday has yet to arrive, anticipate this!

Mega Sale 2016

Held over the second week of June, this exciting event at Clifford Centre, had our very own employees participating on the sales floor and attending to customers. With massive bargains and a wide range of luxury goods to choose from, it's no wonder the crowd was almost unstoppable all week. It's usually through such sales do we witness some Reebonzers possessing the potential to be really good sales people. All in all, there certainly is fun in the frenzy!

Reebonz Sydney Concept Store’s 3rd Anniversary

In May, our concept store in Sydney, Australia celebrated its 3rd anniversary with a bang! A PR event took place at the store and it was hosted by Aussie fashion blogger, Nadia Fairfax.

The night featured an exclusive charity auction of luxury goods from brands including Saint Laurent, Prada, Burberry, and a Q&A with Nadia Fairfax on style. There was also a model showcase featuring the latest arrivals on Reebonz. On that night, $2800 was raised for a local charity - White Ribbon, which campaigns against violence towards women. Terry Tsen, Marketing and HR executive of Reebonz Australia shared, "It was great to see all our hard work come to fruition! The event went extremely well and our guests had an amazing time. The highlight of the night was the charity auction which was so much fun for everyone. What made it even more fulfilling was that it was for a good cause!" What a way to celebrate the milestone we have achieved!

Reebonz Australia Bubble Soccer Session

In Reebonz, we strongly believe in celebrating the little victories. The team at Reebonz Australia booked a session of Bubble Soccer as a department reward for hitting their quarterly target. They certainly had a ball while at it!

"It was a lot of fun & it was a great experience but I had no idea the bubbles were so heavy! It was nice to hang out with the team outside of the office and I'm looking forward to more fun events!" enthused Junie Dien, a Member Relations Officer.

We are sure that there would be more of such events to come for our Australian team.

A familiar face around Reebonz Singapore HQ, Ali is often seen behind a camera or sketching deep in concentration. We had a talk with this jovial fellow about his beginnings, inspirations and work.

What are some of the ways a colleague has made your work easier?I work closely with Kimberly. Her excellent attitude and professional-ism has made my work much easier! I’m mainly the photographer, while she is the stylist and we work well together. We make a good team.

She knows clearly what items should be featured on our website as she had previously worked at a magazine, so I trust her knowledge and instinct on these things.

What is one tip every photographer should know?Shoot what you know! Everyone has a different vision so you should shoot what you’re good at and what you think is best. I’m a graphic designer and a photographer, so I shoot, edit and design - that’s what I’m good at. Not everyone will like what you do, but someone will and that’s all that matters.

We’ve noticed that you have a huge number of followers on Instagram. What do you think is your most attractive trait which resonates well with people? Most people on Instagram do only one thing - like fashion, food or nature. I do a bit of everything because I can design, sketch, take photographs as well as do typography. My Instagram is a mixture of design, art and fashion, which I think appeals to a broad base of audience.

What would you tell someone looking to be as successful as you are on Instagram?Be genuine! Just enjoy what you are doing. The rest will follow.

How did your love for sketching start? When I was younger, I started sketching characters from my comic books because I was very fascinated by them. My mother saw my sketches and went out to buy more comic books for me to sketch! In a way, she was the first person to encourage me to pursue my art and for that, I have always been grateful.

She's sure your number one fan! What inspires you these days then? These days, I browse a lot of art-related websites and magazines to get my inspiration. I also draw a lot of inspiration from music videos and motion graphics videos. I find that it is important to see the work out there, so that I can learn and constantly improve on my work.

Having an exclusive access to witness each season's new trends before the world, Reebonz's Senior Merchandiser, Gail Chen, also has had a fair share of interesting encounters, especially during her buying trips. We sat with this charming lady behind what goes into the Reebonz inventory.

By NABILAH KAMAL

Tell us more about your role in Reebonz? In general, my task is to analyze consumers' buying patterns and predict future fashion trends. Besides that, I review performance indicators on a regular basis, such as sales and discount levels. I must always be ready and react to changes in demand at all times. A merchandiser is also known as The Initiator, The Influencer, The Decid-er, The Buyer and The User.

Since you started working for Reebonz, how has the journey been for you?Working in Reebonz for the past two and a half years has been a great learning experience! An interesting fact - I was formerly from a design & merchandising background, and had no exposure in buying. It isn't a long road yet (laughs), but I must say it's the journey that is important.

Share with us one of your most memorable Reebonz expe-rience.I am not sure that I have had a 'most memorable' experience, but I am often amazed by a lot of happenings and occurances that would pop up during my buying trips.

How do you practise our brand values Trusted, Easy and Exciting (TEE) at the workplace? My ideal working environment is one where there's a good sense of team spirit. A strong work ethic is essential but the humane factor is also important. I enjoy working with our Merchandising team who has a decent sense of humour - they may take their work very seriously, but don't necessarily take themselves too seriously!

I am fond of humble individuals who are dynamic and progressive towards their work. I really enjoy working as part of a highly committed and professional team.

How would you describe working at Reebonz?Challenging, inspiring and fun!

If there’s an important insight you can share with other Reebonzers about merchandising, what would it be?First of all, you must be able to adapt to the 'Fast & Furious' environ-ment. Buying is not a glamourous job like what most people would think . This is because buyers are always on 24/7 standby mode due to the dfferent timezones of our overseas suppliers or agents.

I have also learnt that due to the frequent work-traveling days, you must put in extra effort to keep good ties with your family and friends.

What is your favourite book, and why do you think every-one should read it? ‘The Beautiful Fall' by Alicia Drake, which charts the rise (and rivalry) of Yves Saint Laurent and Karl Lagerfeld in Paris during the 1970s. This book documents the careers of two of fashion's most prominent designers with incredible biographical detail. It's a dramatic, fascinating and addictive book to read especially for fashion enthusiasts.

What is the country that you have not visited and would like to visit the most? Turkey, definitely! I love their juxtaposition of East meets West culture. I wish to see the unique mix of cultures and architectures when visiting some of the ancient mosques in Istanbul. Most of Turkey was under the control of the Byzantine Empire, the center the Orthodox Church. When the empire fell to the Turks, it is interesting to see many of their churches converted into mosques.

If you were a designer brand, what would it be? Balenciaga. I adore its androgynous style that features a combination of masculine and feminine characteristics .

What is your favourite designer bag?I have many favorite designer bags [laughs]! However, I strongly believe that it is not the latest bag trends or seasonal hues that make up your style, but rather a timeless classic in an appropriate size which suits my personality and daily ensembles.

What are the words of wisdom you live by? 'I like to listen. I have learned a great deal from listening carefully. Most people never listen.' ― Ernest Hemingway

Customers - the people who make us and could also, potentially destroy us. More often that not, we think that giving the customers what they want is how we, as a business, can thrive. However, this is a myopic and antiquated thinking that has led to the downfall of many once-great companies.

Truly, what turns your average consumer into a loyal customer is dependable on not just the tangibles, but more importantly, the impalpable - Service.

On a daily basis, we often forget the heroes standing at the frontline of our operation - the member relations officers who punctiliously manage our customers' expectations and requirements directly. As their titles suggest, they are the ones who build and sustain relation-ships with our customers. Without them, we would have no use for a clever marketing strategy or attractive new product whatsoever.

In this issue, we speak with one of our dedicated Member Relations soldier, Lynn Zainal, on her role, thoughts and personal experiences with customers. Lynn, has earned herself several compliments from our customers and we're truly humbled to have a short cozy chat (Member Relations are very busy people!) with her.

As a Member Relations Executive, what does your job scope entail? My primary role is to attend to customers' queries and feedback on a daily basis via phone calls and emails. I also assist my manager with other operational needs such as monitoring and updating her on our team's performances in key areas like, service level and response time.

Describe your most challenging customer experience and how did you manage it? [Laughs] You know what, I actually have to handle challenging custom-ers everyday! How do I manage them? By imagining how I would want a service officer to serve me. I will always be patient and try to put myself in their shoes. I am a believer in karma and that what goes around does come back around. Life has a funny way of making you deal with what you make others go through. With that mindset, I do my best at managing each customer’s different needs.

Describe your best customer experience and what did you do to sustain it?I had this member who was a new mum. I remembered hearing her baby crying profusely in the background while I was on the phone with her. She had just made a third order and wanted to make sure the bag we are sending her is not defective. To manage her expectations, I gave her the assurance on my side while she attended to her baby. I headed down to the warehouse and physically check the condition of the bag and got back to her that very same day. I had it shipped out the next day and she called in to say thank you for checking the physical piece before sending it to her. Ever since then, this member started putting her trust in me. That is how I sustained the good customer relationship. Till today, she remains a loyal customer. Last I heard, she has gotten herself a mini Lady Dior, a Fendi Micro Peekaboo and a Givenchy mini pandora. She really loves tiny bags! [Laughs]

What are some of the training workshops you have under-gone that proved to be useful in helping you do your job? TEE workshop. It makes me understand why different departments in Reebonz play important roles. If one team makes a mistake, you can expect a domino effect. As I also deal with various departments, I need to understand why certain things can or cannot be done. It does help me with my daily tasks.

Away from serious talks, let's tackle with some fun ques-tions! When we think of MR team, we make the associa-tion that the telephone is your best friend.

On average, how many calls you personally handle each day? On an average, I handle about 50 calls per day. The number goes up during festive season.

What are the top 3 most prominent brands our customers love to buy?I would say Prada, Saint Laurent & Miu Miu. I receive queries on them daily.

Share with us 3 important traits that a Member Relations Officer should have.Patience. More patience and even more patience! [Laughs] And yes, we need to be attentive and have a good set of communication skills as well..

Being exposed to so many different designer bags in Reebonz, there must have been a few that have caught your fancy. What are some bags on your wish list? I love Chanel, Céline & Hermès!

If you have a choice to do an exchange with another department for a month, which department would it be and why? Ateliers department. I would love to learn how bags or watches are being inspected and authenticated. It would be an added advantage to my knowledge and experience.

Every issue, we attempt to invite two Reebonzers from different departments to exchange five questions with each other. This is to encourage inter-departmental bonding and really, what's the harm of making new friends around the office? For this issue of Unveil, we are bringing together two lovely personalities - Kia Hui, from Merchandis-ing and Fabian, from the Training and Development department.

Here's a candid coverage on what they got up to:

Fabian: So Kia Hui, what do you think my job scope is about?

Kia Hui: Hmmmm I’ve interacted with you briefly during the culture training, so I'm guessing that part of your job involves promoting the company culture and bonding within staff at Reebonz?

Fabian: That’s pretty accurate! I do help with the planning and executing of these trainings with my team. It’s great that I get to work with an enjoyable bunch of people. How about you? What do you like best about your job?

Kia Hui: I enjoy that it is not overly rigid as I liaise mainly with sellers and depending on their queries or requests, we'll have to come up with different ways to handle them. It seems like interaction with other people is a huge part of both of our job scopes. I’m interested to find out what it’s like in the shoes of our other colleagues. You know how every parcel comes with that beautifully-tied ribbon? It’d be nice to know how to do it from one of our Reebonz packers! If you could switch positions with anyone in the company, who would it be?

Fabian: If I could switch positions, it’d definitely be with Joan because I really like that he gets to travel to Europe for his work. Anyway, it seems like you really enjoy working here! What aspect of Reebonz do you like best.

Kia Hui: Yes, I do! Well, I really like the fact that everyone at Reebonz are quite friendly, even people from other departments whom I don't work with. How about you?

Fabian: Definitely the vibrant environment of Reebonz. It makes coming to work a much happier daily affair.

Kia Hui: I know right, I’m really going to miss this office when we move to Tampines. There are so many affordable food options around here. Where’s your favourite place to have lunch in Tai Seng.

Fabian: I will miss this place too! I enjoy heading to ‘Ten Ten’ for the tasty fish soup! Speaking about food, I think it is time for lunch!

Kia Hui: Yes, I might just try the fish soup today!

In this issue, we introduce you to one of our longest member, Ms. Cynthia Kwok, who has been loyal to us since seven years ago.

It was on March 2009—the very first month during which Reebonz was launched—that Cynthia signed up as our member and discovered her predilection for our trusted online platform. It is to our amazement to discover that she has purchased over two hundred of Reebonz’s designer favourites till date, and that has left us no doubt in rewarding her with our exclusive Black membership for being among our top and consistent supporters.

With a recent purchase made just two months ago, her most prized possession has to be the classic Christian Dior Granville Cannage Lambskin Boston bag worth S$3,395 – a hefty purchase but one that is befitting of the luxury aficionado in its opulence and elegance.

Global Marketing Style Files OOTD Contest In May, the global marketing team got female Style Files readers to reconnect with and indulge in the things that they want, such as praise, class and power. One such effort was to celebrate our blog readers’ individual style with an Outfit Of The Day contest. The ladies were encouraged to post their best sartorial shot on either Instagram or Facebook using the contest hash tag (#myReebonzOOTD) for a chance to win one of five Salvatore Ferragamo wallets. Almost 400 entries were received in total over a two week period. Additionally, traffic to the Style Files blog pages and number of engagements on Reebonz’s Facebook profiles saw a hike, rounding up what was a successful campaign.

Reebonz Malaysia’s YouTube Collaboration Reebonz Malaysia’s biggest campaign this quarter sought to drive awareness for Closets as well as website traffic, so together with YouTube star Joseph Gemani, they went out in full force on social media. An engaging video starring Gemani that was created to educate viewers on the functions and features of Closets received more than 20,000 views. To top it off, a Salvatore Ferragamo Bag was also given away to a lucky fan. The campaign successfully generated more interest among Reebonz members, who have been sending in enquiries and starting to sell on the Closets platform ever since.

Reebonz Australia Reebonz Australia sent one Reebonz fan and 20 of their friends to a VIP movie screening of the blockbuster Now You See Me 2, as part of a social media campaign to increase their page reach. Participants simply had to like the Facebook post and tag five friends to qualify. Though the campaign was low in cost, it effectively extended their social media reach and follower count. On the week of the campaign, Reebonz Australia saw the highest surge in social traffic for the quarter.

In a typical work day, it’s all too easy to get caught up in the pressure of meeting deadlines and hitting quotas.

Here are some ways you can manage stress at the workplace.

Proper posture If you feel that your muscles are tensing up – especially in your neck, back, wrists and shoulders – it’s usually a sign of bad posture. Stress is both a cause and effect of poor posture so improving it can lead to reducing stress.

Move it Too much sitting is bad for you! Get up once every hour to move around. You could do some light stretching, take a walk to the water cooler, vending machine or even to the toilet. This will help to get your blood flowing and improve circulation.

Change your perspective If you have a laptop, try sitting at another position. A fresh surrounding can lead to fresh perspectives. Looking at problems with fresh perspec-tives can also help you identify and even solve them!

Good eye-dea We only have one pair of eyes to last our lifetime. It’s definitely a good idea not to stress them out and overwork them by looking at the computer screen the whole day. Look at greenery in the distance to help your eyes relax and recover from stress.

Talk about it Approach your colleagues and have a chat. Share a joke and have a good laugh! Laughter is after all the best medicine. Simple measures can also help lower stress levels – whether it’s someone checking if the other person is alright, or making the other a cup of tea, or sharing snacks – these little actions go on to show the other person that you care.

Outside of work Stay hydrated, eat well, sleep well and exercise. As clichéd as it sounds, these help to regulate the effects of stress you face and sets you up to better deal with stress in or outside the workplace.

Brands are no longer mere names. As the scale of marketing stretches and strategies evolve with contemporary demands, the definition of the word “brand” has unmoored. Brands now tell stories, of both the tangible and intangible, that confer on us idiosyncratic perceptions of what a brand encompasses.

But today, we will be telling their stories for them. Gathering the most sellable and most profitable brands from eight hundred of them, we share with you the tales of these labels within Reebonz.

Behind theBRANDS

Page 27: Unveil-June 2016-pdf

Michael Kors You might remember the designer as a regular judge on the reality series Project Runway. Epitomising jet-set chic, the eponymous New York label is number one on our best-selling list in quantities sold. This can be attributed to the fact that Reebonz carries the widest range of Michael Kors collection available in the market — on average, there are more than three hundred SKUs available per season.

The brand became increasingly popular with their launch of the Selma bag, although their first hit was the classic Jet Set tote, a design true to their aesthetics.

Salvatore Ferragamo An encapsulation of innovation, class and opulence, this Italian brand came in number three on our best–selling list in quantities sold.

This brand pools a huge catalogue. It can be observed—although not definitively—that the number of SKUs a brand carries shares a direct correlation with the amount of its quantities sold. Since the brand is a bona fide classic, sales have always been stable.

Prada Prada is a sophisticated and well thought–out brand; therefore, it comes as no flummox that the brand is a hit among our savvy consum-ers.

Ranking first in terms of revenue brought in and second in quantities sold, Prada’s higher price points are a logical explanation behind this phenomenon, with its most popular designs being the Galleria and Tessuto handbags. However, Prada has been experiencing a swoop in sales lately due to the singularity of its designs across seasonal collec-tions. It will be interesting to witness the potential drop-off of Prada from its strong chart positions, as other luxury brands step up to take over.

Balenciaga Known for its ultramodern cuts and urban aesthetics, Balenciaga ranked runner–up on our list as the most profitable brand. You proba-bly guessed it — its celebrated, classic motorcycle–inspired bags have always been fashion’s favourites and their timelessness pervades the streets up until today.

It seems their City bag is the most sought-after; every season, the couture house will launch a refreshed rendition of the City bag, as well as a series of new, on-trend colours. However, the elusive brand struggles to keep up with fashion’s high demand, creating an insatiable appetite in the sartorial circle for Balenciaga’s costly classics.

Saint Laurent Hedi Slimane brought an offhand aura to luxury that made waves in the fashion circuit. The bad boy/rock chick allure proved to be a spellbind-ing formula as the brand rakes in the highest revenue, after Prada and Balenciaga.

Their most popular range sports the unmistakable YSL monogram, most often gilded or galvanised; however, the Rive Gauche and Du Jour bags are also comparable neoclassics.

In light of Hedi Slimane’s recent departure from the brand, style watch-ers can anticipate a stark shift in aesthetics with the helm of a new creative director — rumour has it that the fashion house might lose the YSL monogram all together.

Q1: Could we have one general guest wifi password here at Reebonz instead of always asking our receptionist to generate a new one everytime a guest visits? TEEM: Yes, we have now changed it to just one unique password for all guests to key in every month. The reason we have to create a unique password each month is to ensure that there is no abuse of network; because too many users on a network will affect the bandwidth and speed of internet, thus affecting our productivity at work.

Q2: Could we have improvements in the nursing room area? TEEM: We plan to have a dedicated nursing room for mothers in our new office for sure! But for now, we have made some small changes in our current makeshift room, such as installing a door lock and placing a simple table for nursing pumps. We have also shielded the windows by taping brown paper over it. We sincerely hope these small changes will make the nursing experience a slightly better one.

Q3: We do not know everyone in the Reebonz office, and as a result, when we need something, we face challenges in reaching out to the correct person and connecting with each other.TEEM: We have done up a global employee directory with detailed contact information. This directory is accessible by all staff and we hope that this will make it easier for everyone to reach out to our fellow colleagues. Also, our Human Resource (HR) team is currently in the midst of revamping our HR system in order to improve accessibility and convenience. With this development, everyone can have access to all HR materials via an intranet.

Q4: Is it possible to provide Reebonzers with complimen-tary coffee and tea in the our office?TEEM: Your wish is our command and indeed, now we have unlimited servings of coffee, tea, and more available for all.

Q5: Can Reebonz revive the table tennis table at Level 1? TEEM: You name it, we deliver! As you can see, we have set up the tables at Level 1 and even bought some new rackets and ping pong balls to get the game going. There will also be a table tennis tourna-ment so keep an eye out for it! Q6: Our birthday leave can only be redeemed on the day itself. Can we widen the restrictions and redeem it any day as long as it is within the birthday month? TEEM: Absolutely! It is already implemented. From May 2016 onwards, all Reebonzers can redeem their birthday leave on any day they prefer as long as it is within their birthday month. Q7: Can we have the music back on our speakers in the office? TEEM: By the time you're reading it, you're probably listening to some music in the background. Yes, the groove is back!

Q8: Breaks are essential for welfare and productivity. Do you think we can have nap rooms in the new office? TEEM: We are still working out the space configurations and will certainly optimise the space to make it a great place for work. For starters, we will have more meeting/communal spaces to accommo-date our discussions, networking and workplace bonding. Q9: It will be great to review our long service awards requirements. Instead of the 5 year tenure in order to receive the long service award, is it possible to recognise shorter tenures of 3 years? TEEM: Yes, we will definitely consider that as we are currently review-ing our benefits and long service award framework. We are studying popular and best practices in other companies, and will adopt suitable ones here in Reebonz.

Q10: It gets dark outside for those who work late at Reebonz. Can there be lights installed at the Level 1 lobby for these people who work overtime? TEEM: We are shifting our office in a couple of months. It is not advisa-ble to make permanent and physical changes to our office environ-ment because such changes need approval from our landlord. We will need to reinstate the building to its original state once we move to the other office. If we install changes, it will be a challenging feat to reverse these changes when we shift. We will see how we can offer temporary solutions to ensure that the lack of lighting does not pose any hazards.
