In order to achieve the above abjectives, the following key activities will be conducted:

* Identification and profilling of IDP beneficiaries, including data on agricultural production (i.e., rice and corn seeds production, who have returned to their original communities

following the agreed selection criteria and in coordination with the DSWD, and other project development partners, i.e., DAF-ARMM, municipal-LGUs, WFD, etc.;

* Organization of rice and corn farmers into clusters with 30 household members, in close coordination with the assigned LGU-agricultural technicians;

* Assist FAO, DAF-ARMM and other Project partners in the distribution of agriculture inputs (rice, corn and vegetable seeds, fertelizer, hand tools, livestock /poultry and fishing

Brief Description of the Project/Program:

Youth sector is considered most vulnerable entity but plays an important role toward community development. Oftentimes, this sector is easily involved in the different

community unfavorable activities and develops untoward leadership. The main intention of this project is to encourage youth participation in community affairs through youth

organizing. It also aims to nurture youth in helping community promotion in the real essence of justice and peace.

Specifically, it aims to: Harness the collective strength of the young people to influence change in their communities; facilitate community youth affairs that lead to solicit

recognition among and between community members and entities, and enhance and nurture the positive outlook of the youth and capacitate them through intensive training and

seminar activities.

The target beneficiaries of the project is both currently studying (in-of-school youth) and stopped schooling (out-of-school youth) provided that they belong to age bracket 13

The assistance is geared toward complementing the local peace and development initiatives supported through the “Environmental Protection in the Lake Lanao Area”

Netherlands. It is intended to promote sustainable livelihoods, while building the level of awareness on the culture of peace in the area. Assistance under this Project is directed

to poor and marginalized communities in the municipalities of Lumbatan, Butig, Marantao, and Bayang in Lanao del Sur Province.

Project’s components are: sustainable livelihood that includes the distribution of fish cages with fingerlings to 450 families and they also benefited technical trainings on fish

culture and fish cages management; distribution of fruit trees and timber seedlings to poor and marginalized families in upland areas of Lanao Lake, and Culture of Peace (COP).

The 200 families received 50 assorted fruit seedlings (High Valued Crops) and 50 Mahogany seedlings with sack of fertilizer. They were given technical trainings on fruit

production. The COP component had five (5) series of peace education seminars including conflict management and resolution.

Brief Description of the Project/Program:

The project/study was conducted in 51 barangays distributed in 20 municipalities of Maguindanao and Lanao del Sur provinces. Both provinces form the bigger area of

Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM). Five ethnic groups were covered in the study, as well as the specific situation of the Internally Displaced Peoples (IDPs) and

of those families that were relocated out of their barangays of origin. Moreover, the study looked into the agro-ecological distribution of the different communities, and takes into

account the historical developments of these communities in order to understand their present characteristics and structure. UNYPAD is one of those partners of Accion Contra

el Hambre (ACH) in implementing this Mindanao-wide project.
