MeditationMeditation on FridayThose who have experienced the benefits of meditation will find a way of establishing a regular practice to integrate it into their lives. Before the weekend begins, we will set aside one hour to become silent. Our gathering starts with a short meditative reading or introduction. After that, our meditation begins. We finish the evening with a short reflection and a drink.

Meditation in the Christian traditionAll over the world, people gather in groups to meditate in accordance with the Christian tradition. Meditation is a simple way of getting in touch with our original core. The silence of meditation lets us experience fullness and trust, and we turn back to the source. According to the Christian tradition, this source is love.

Wake-upMeditation in accordance with Thich Nhat Hanh that emphasizes gentleness, compassion, togetherness and profound insight. We start with a sitting meditation followed by mindful walking or moving, silent meditation and/or a moment of inspiration. The programme may vary.

Finding yourself … and God?Spiritual Exercises of Saint Ignatius of Loyola

You need to take an important decision. Or you are looking for a deeper meaning, inner peace, love, hope. You are asking yourself questions: How can I be happy? What is the purpose of my life? Who is God to me?With this experience-based method, we explore those questions in depth. We offer two formulas:1. A full 9-month program: weekly meetings with a director2. A shorter program (can be spread over a whole year): 4 to 8 meetings with a director

Spiritual Direction

A spiritual director guides you on your way to deepen your spiritual life and discover your inner self. … if you are looking for a deeper grasp of what is happening at a more profound level, inside you or around you … if you’re discerning what choices to make … if you wish to express your deepest thoughts … if you’re asking yourself questions about faithEverything can be shared, every subject that is important to you.

Join your neighbours at table Get to know your ‘neighbours’ – share a meal together. In this series of excursions, we visit different religious groups in Belgium.Get to know the meaning of food, drink, celebration, and fasting in other cultures and in our own lives.

The Jewish Quarter, Antwerp

A guided tour will take us to a synagogue and typical places. We will have a meal in ‘Hoffy’s’, and learn more about Jewish food culture and its traditions. Ample time will be left for reflection and discussion.

Student Mosque, Leuven

We are invited by the International Muslim Students Association Leuven (IMSAL). We will visit the mosque, where we will receive information about Islam and an invitation to pray. We will participate in a communal meal and be informed about Muslim food culture and its traditions. There will be ample time for questions and discussion.

Mormons, Leuven

We visit The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Leuven. The movement was founded by Joseph Smith in 1830. Adherents, often referred to as “Latter-day Saints” or, less formally, “Mormons”, view faith in Jesus Christ and his atonement as fundamental principles of their religion.

The English-speaking University Parish (EUP), welcomes people from different backgrounds, cultures and countries to come together as a Catholic Christian faith community. There is a special ministry to see to the liturgy and participation of the children. Opportunities are also provided for faith sharing and Charismatic praise and worship.Lliturgy is followed by a reception – a time of hospitality, encounter, sharing and community building.

TaizéTaizé is an ecumenical community in France where Brothers from different Christian denominations work together. Young people from all over the world come to Taizé to meet each other, pray and live together. A typical feature of these prayers is the music. With soft and repetitive songs, a very peaceful and meditative atmosphere is created.

Whether you are a Taizé-addict or don’t know it yet, don’t hesitate to join our prayers. Everyone is welcome, and prayers are in Dutch and English. We close the evening with a drink.

Rituals Can HealGrief after the loss of a loved one can feel unbearable. Weeks or months after the funeral, the need may arise ‘to do something’ to commemorate and heal. We can help design and shape creative rituals to process one’s feeling of loss. For instance:• A remembrance with witnesses, music,

texts/prayers, symbols, silence... • A gathering in an intimate circle, where

memories can be shared, recognized and accepted by the group.

• A workshop with individually work, followed by a final group moment.

Moving on TogetherGroup for mourning: Young People

Five gatherings for young people to share and listen, work with pictures, music, poems, a story, memories...

A different way of holding onGroup for mourning: Adults

Each of the five evenings adults work with a different theme.
