The sermon yesterday was about how important it is for men to make and keep promises. The men stood during the invitation and read the 7 promises that were part of the Promise Keepers Movement. They were invited to allow God through the Holy Spirit, to help them claim at least one of the promises to work on with God's help. This was between them and God. While all 7 promises are to be immolated, I find it more helpful to focus on one at a time. You might read one each day this week and make them a matter of prayer. Or you could choose one a week for 7 weeks. However God directs you is the right way to go!!
1. A Promise Keeper is committed to honoring Jesus Christ through worship, prayer, and obedience to God’s Word in the power of the Holy Spirit. 2. A Promise Keeper is committed to pursuing vital relationships with a few other men, understanding that he needs brothers to help him keep his promises. 3. A Promise Keeper is committed to practicing spiritual, moral, ethical, and sexual purity. 4. A Promise Keeper is committed to building strong marriages and families through love, protection, and biblical values. 5. A Promise Keeper is committed to supporting the mission of the church by honoring and praying for his pastor, and by actively giving his time and resources. 6. A Promise Keeper is committed to reaching beyond any racial and denominational barriers to demonstrate the power of biblical unity. 7. A Promise Keeper is committed to influencing his world, being obedient to the Great Commandment (see Mark 12:30-31) and the Great Commission (see Matt. 28:19-20).

YOUTH SUMMER RETREAT Church, after a week of re-energizing, we wanted to update you on everything that helped us grow in Christ while we were in Chattanooga. We spent the week at Covenant College listening to God's Word through the teachings of Chad Poe, camp pastor and working beside worship leader Chuck Hooten. During the day, we served at the Chambliss Center for Boys and Girls, where we took dance with the kids, played tennis, and swam. This was a form of missions we have never experienced before but was well worth the opportunity. Church family, we can't thank you enough for your prayers and financial support for us to go on this mission trip. This has been an experience that will help us grow more in our church and our community.
Thank you!
