IDEATE MEDIA – OPEN POSITION FOR DEVELOPMENT/PRODUCTION COORDINATOR
Employment: Full-time employee position Reports to: VP, Development & VP, Production Location: Kuala Lumpur Specific duties:
- Development duties: read submissions (concepts, treatments, scripts, books, etc) and provide detailed coverage/evaluation, coordinate evaluation of submissions by various internal readers and conduct creative research.
- Production duties: organise logistics for workshops, shoots, meetings; prepare Call Sheets, Budgets and Schedules, liase with crew, cast and key suppliers for small scale in-house productions with the guidance of VP, Production; maintain database of key suppliers in Malaysia and the region; provide assistance to our external producers where necessary, provide intel on latest digital and social media trends and behaviours
- General coordination: facilitate and log the sharing of content internally and externally through online and offline mechanisms, maintain Ideate’s online submissions log and library of print/AV material (for active development, current development, production and post-production), maintain consistent and professional digital filing systems on Ideate’s file server, look for efficiencies in all processes and suggest improvements, and liaise with US team to ensure smooth running of international development processes.
- Stay abreast of current local/regional/international television and film news and trends through review of trade publications and attendance at local seminars, sending out regular e-blasts and bulletins to Ideate team.
- General administrative duties and operational support for the offices of VP, Development and VP, Production – including diary management and travel coordination.
Qualifications and skills:
- Some experience in a creative/development/production role in the creative industries would be an advantage. However, recent graduates with strong CVs are encouraged to apply
- Bachelor’s degree necessary - Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and at least
one other major ASEAN language (Bahasa Malaysia, Bahasa Indonesia, Mandarin, Cantonese, Hindi, Tamil, Tagalog, Thai)
- Excellent organisational and time management skills; self-starter; detail and deadline-oriented; excellent work ethic; passionate and knowledgeable about high quality drama across both television and film and across both the local and international marketplace.
