CITY-WIDE SPRING CLEAN-UP TOMORROW

STAFFORD MSD EGG HUNT
Stafford MSD had an excellent event on Thursday that brought two campuses together – High School
and Primary School.
The Stafford High National Honor Society students put together the Easter Egg Hunt for Stafford Primary
Pre-K, Kindergarten and First Graders.
The students, parents and volunteers enjoyed their time!
DIMAS MEDINA-KPRC CHANNEL 2 ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Stafford High senior soccer player Dimas Medina was named the KPRC Channel 2 Athlete of the Week.
Medina scored a total of five goals in two playoff games for the Spartans, who had a hard-fought 3-2
overtime loss to Navasota last Friday.
Medina was a three-year varsity player, who helped Stafford win consecutive Co-District Championships,
along with three straight playoff appearances.

BUSINESSES, COMMUNITY INVITED TO DRONES & SCONES

Stafford MSD is hosting “Drones & Scones” from 8-9:30 a.m. on Friday, April 28 to introduce local
businesses and residents to the advances that the District has made in Technology over the past few
years. We will highlight our Drones as well as Robotics.
We will serve breakfast before the event, courtesy of the Stafford Culinary Arts Department. Please

STAFFORD CHOIR PERFORMS SPRING CONCERT
Stafford MSD hosted its Spring Concert & Pop Show on Thursday night at the Stafford Civic Center.
There were performances by the High School Choir, the Middle School Choir, Grease Dance Ensembles
and individual performances.
A big “Bravo” to all of the students who performed, as well as Ms. Ladricca Price, Choir Director.
STAFFORD ELEMENTARY STUDENT EXCELS IN THE RING
AND THE CLASSROOM
Stafford Elementary School student Dylon Turner is ranked No. 8 in the Independent
Worldwide Amateur Boxing Rankings for the 70-pound division.
Turner excels inside and outside the ring. Excelling Academically is his No. 1 Priority.
SMSD ALUMNI SPOTLIGHT: BIANCA BEAL
Bianca Beal, a 2012 Stafford High graduate, has played an important role in the Texas State
Senate during the 85th Legislative Session at the State Capitol in Austin.
Beal is a Legislative Aide to Texas State Senator Borris Miles (D-Houston), who is one of 31 State
Senators in Texas. Although he’s a Houston resident, Sen. Miles represents District 13, which
includes Stafford.
“Bianca is a hard worker, and she’s learned quite a bit in a short amount of time,” Sen. Miles
said. “She’s absorbed the environment. She is a voice for District 13 and a great community
liaison person.”
As part of her role at the Capitol, Beal has focused on bills affecting Education. A University of
North Texas graduate, Beal’s long-term goal is to become a teacher.
She credits her teachers at Stafford High, especially Rod Rodriguez and Ladricca Price, with
inspring her to succeed!
STAFFORD HIGH ROBOTICS TEAM TRAVELS TO SAN ANTONIO
The Stafford High Robotics Team participated in the First Robotics Alamo Competition this week in San
Antonio.
These students are learning valuable STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) Skills that will serve
them well as they progress in high school, and eventually, in colleges and careers.
STAFFORD TENNIS COMPETES AT DISTRICT TOURNAMENT
The Spartan JV Tennis team is coming home with many accolades after the District Tournament in
Bellville earlier this week.
A new sign will go up for Cassandra Soza and Joseph Lee who were crowned District 25-4A JV Mixed
Doubles Champions. With all of these victories at the JV level, Stafford H.S was the District Runner-
up (2nd place) out of our 6 team district, only trailing Bellville in total points.
Alliyah Williams won 3rd place in JV Girl's Singles. Monica Casarez and Cassandra Andres won 3rd in JV
Girls' Doubles. Jasmine Underwood and Genesis Maya were close behind with 4th place in JV Girls'
Doubles. Paul Phung and Mark Escudero won 3rd place in JV Boys' Doubles. Kaitlyn Ly and Jyavon Hill
won 2nd in Mixed Doubles.

Terri Calbert is the Stafford Elementary School Teacher of the Month for March. She has taught Second
Grade at Stafford Elementary for the past 15 years, and her children graduated from Stafford MSD.
Two of her children went on to work for the District.

STAFFORD HIGH SPANISH CLUB VISITS SAN ANTONIO
The Stafford Spanish Club attended the annual Pan American Student Forum of Texas (PASF) Convention
in San Antonio last weekend. The students competed in multiple contests, which included topics of
grammar, vocabulary, listening, reading, and civilization. The students did a fantastic job throughout the
entire event! The team is still waiting for final results. The students also got a chance to explore the city
of San Antonio, and learn more about the Hispanic/Latin culture the city has to offer.

before May 12. Re-Enrollment is not automatic. The form must be filled out.
