VillageWalk CERT Our next meeting is

    Wednesday, November16th6:00 p.m.

CERT is a group of community volunteers trained by our local fire department to be first responders in emergency situations such as hurricanes and tornadoes. The team is activated by Bonita Springs Fire and Rescue during such emergencies. At Village Walk we meet the second Wednesday of each month at the Town Center. We discuss plans for emergency situations and refresh our training to enable us to better function as a team. We always seek more volunteers to better address emergency events. Residents interested in joining should contact Nicole Hornberger at Bonita Springs Fire Control and Rescue, (239) 949-6227, [email protected]. If you would like more information or have any questions, please email [email protected].

The Cancer Support Group The Cancer Support Group meets monthly to provide a forum for those who have been impacted by cancer - survivors, caregivers and anyone who

would like to be involved in the fight. We offer support, information and resources, or just a few words of encouragement from “someone who has been there.”We meet on the second Wednesday of the month at 4:00 p.m. in the Town Center. Save the date for our 4th Annual High Tea and Fashion Show fundraiser which is scheduled for November 10th. We all have family who come into town; instead of buying these items why not help someone in need. If you are willing to share or need items to be shared, please email Margie Lutz at [email protected]. Don’t forget to mention your name, phone number, the items and if you are seasonal or permanent. We thank you in advance!

HOOKED ON BOOKSWEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 9, 2016We will meet at 1:00 pm in the Town Center to discuss “The Muralist” by B. A. Shapiro.

Entwining the lives of both historical and fictional characters and moving between the past and the present, The Muralist plunges listeners into the divisiveness of prewar politics and the largely forgotten plight of European refugees refused entrance to the United States. It captures both the inner workings of today’s New York art scene and the beginnings of the vibrant and quintessentially American school of abstract expressionism.

Hooked on Books I has a waiting list for those who want to join the group. When a slot is open, they will be asked to join. However, during the summer you can sit in on our discussions. Please call Dorothy at 390-9417 or email [email protected] if you want to sit in or be put on our waiting list.

“The story of two sisters, separated by years and experience, by ideals, circumstances and passions, each embarking on her own dangerous path toward survival, love and freedom, in German occupied war torn France. A heartbreakingly beautiful novel that celebrates the resilience of the human spirit and the durability of women.”

Please make certain that you RSVP to Michele Cudnik at: [email protected].

However, the HOA asks that residents keep the following restrictions in mind when decorating their homes:• The HOA does not permit lights to be attached to palm tree trunks. Many residents do so anyway, regardless of this restriction. If a resident

does install lights, any lights on palm trees should not be attached with staples or any other puncturing materials as they will damage the palm trees and may cause disease or death of the tree. Trees damaged due to installation of string lights or other holiday décor will be replaced at the resident’s expense.

    • Decorations placed on lawns or in beds or on trees are placed at the residents own risk: neither the HOA nor any vendors providing maintenance to the community shall be held responsible for damages to any items placed outside the unit.

    • Homes with decorations placed on lawns, in beds or on trees may not receive regularly performed maintenance.• All decorations must be removed on or before January 10th.

PLEASE REMEMBER TO:• Lower the pool umbrellas when leaving the pools for

the day to protect them from damages from wind.• Do not ride or park bikes on the walkways of the Town

Center: this will keep everyone on the walkways safe and tire marks off the Town Center walls.

    • Trash cans and recycling bins must be stored out of sight from the streets, neighbors and common areas at the end of each pick up day.

Overnight Parking on the Streets Overnight parking is not permitted per VillageWalk’s Covenants, Conditions and Restrictions: Article 12.2.B. Parking and Garages. Vehicles shall be parked only in the garages or in the driveways serving the Units or in the appropriate spaces or designated areas in which parking may be assigned, and then subject to the reasonable Rules and Regulations adopted by the Board. Vehicles shall not be parked overnight on Roads or swales. Each home has four parking spaces: two inside the garage and two on the driveway. Spaces in front of the Town Homes are not assigned to those homes and overnight parking is not permitted in those spaces. Overnight parking on the Roads or swales is not permitted as it can impede emergency vehicles. If you live in a Town Home, and are expecting guests who plan to visit for a few times, please stop by the HOA office to receive a parking pass for your guest. The pass will be dated for the time your guests are scheduled to stay with you, and must be displayed on the dashboard.
