Harry S. Truman Library Research Grant April 1, 2018Research Grants of up to $2,500 are awarded twice annually to offset the cost of conducting research at the Harry S. Truman Library and Museum.

North American Conference on Business Studies Dissertation Fellowship April 1, 2018 (anticipated)Supports research in the British Isles on any topic of British (including Scottish, Irish and Imperial) history or British Studies. Applicant must need to travel to the British Isles for the purpose of dissertation research.

Neotropical Grassland Conservancy (NGC) Student Grant ProgramApril 1, 2018The foundation’s mission is promoting the conservation of savannas, gallery forests, wetlands, and associated ecosystems in Central and South America. The Student Grant Program (SGP) was designed in response to feedback from Venezuelan professors. Graduate student research projects are often hindered by lack of funds for basic needs such as transportation, lodging, meals and consumable field supplies. Open to Latin American students enrolled in a M.S. or Ph.D. program in a US or South American university.

American Musicological SocietyApril 2, 2018

Virginia and George Bozarth Travel Fund Intended to encourage and assist Ph.D. candidates, post-doctoral scholars, independent scholars, and junior faculty to travel to Austria to carry out research.

Jan LaRue Travel Fund The fund honors the memory of Jan LaRue (1918–2004), a distinguished scholar and AMS member admired for his pioneering work on style analysis, the eighteenth-century symphony, and early computer applications in musicology.

Harold Powers World Travel Fund The fund is intended to encourage and assist Ph.D. candidates, in all fields of musical scholarship to travel anywhere in the world to carry out the necessary work for their dissertation or other research.

Eugene K. Wolf Travel Fund Intended to encourage and assist Ph.D. candidates in all fields of musical scholarship to travel to Europe to carry out necessary work for their dissertation on a topic in European music.

Mid Atlantic Arts Foundation USArtists International Grants April 5, 2018Funding for American artists to perform at important cultural festivals and art marketplaces around the globe.

Scientific and Technological Research Council of TurkeyApril 6, 2018Fellowships for international PhD students to pursue their research in Turkey. The program aims to promote Turkey’s scientific and technological collaboration with countries of the prospective researchers.

Confucius China Studies Program Joint Research PhD Fellowship April 8, 2018For qualified students who wish to pursue doctoral research in China. Funding awards range from six months to two years. Students from a wide range of academic areas focusing on China are encouraged to apply.

Smithsonian Institution—STRI Short-Term Fellowship ProgramApril 15, 2018Provides support for graduate students and introduces them to tropical research. These fellowships enable selected candidates to work in the Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute and explore research possibilities at STRI.

American Jewish Historical SocietyApril 20, 2018

Sid and Ruth Lapidus Fellowship Supports one or more researcher(s) wishing to use the collections of the American Jewish Historical Society. Preference is given to researchers interested in 17th and 18th century American Jewish history. At the discretion of the awards committee, the fellowship funds may also be applied to subsidizing publication of a first book in the field of American Jewish history, again with preference given to works in early American Jewish history. The available amount for the award(s) is $6,000 annually.

Ruth B. Fein Prize A travel stipend established in honor of a past president of the Society, to a graduate student to help undertake research at the American Jewish Historical Society. The award is up to $1,000.

CPR Pre-Conference ScholarshipMay 1, 2018 (anticipated)Financial assistance to attend the CPR pre-conference meeting at the Society of American Archivists Annual Meeting.

The Wenner-Gren Foundation Dissertation Fieldwork GrantsMay 1, 2018Awarded to aid doctoral or thesis research. The program contributes to the Foundation’s overall mission to support basic research in anthropology and to ensure that the discipline continues to provide significant work that furthers our understanding of humanity’s cultural and biological origins, development, and variation.

German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD)May 1, 2018

German Studies Research Grant Specialized DAAD program offers German Studies Research Grants to highly-qualified undergraduate and graduate students who are nominated by their department/program chairs. The grant may be used for short-term research (one to two months) in Germany.

Short Term Research Grants ABD doctoral level students who have a well-defined research project that makes a stay in Germany essential. Preference will be given to applicants who have been invited by a faculty member at a German university to study or do research in a particular university or department.

The Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History FellowshipMay 14, 2018The Institute provides annual short-term research fellowships in the amount of $3000 each to doctoral candidates, college and university faculty at every rank, and independent scholars working in the field of American history.

Luso-American Development Foundation (FLAD) GrantMay 15, 2018 (anticipated)Short-term research grants to provide researchers with a fruitful stay in Portugal, supplying them with the required means to develop their work, and providing for their travelling and accommodation expenses.

Caucus for Women in Statistics Travel AwardJune 1, 2018 (anticipated)The Caucus for Women in Statistics (CWS) travel awards partially support attending a professional meeting, such as the Joint Statistical Meeting (JSM). We anticipate at least two awards in the amount of $500 each. The selection will be based on both merits and financial need.

Richard A. Baker Graduate Student Travel GrantJune 4, 2018 (anticipated)Support for graduate-level research conducted at member repositories of the ACSC. Primary consideration given to projects involving the substantive study of issues related to the study of Congress.

Wolf Trap InternshipsJuly 1, 2018Spring, Summer, and Fall internships available to foster the next generation of arts leaders. 12-week program with flexible start and end dates in Washington, DC.

AIIS Junior Research FellowshipsJuly 1, 2018Specifically designed to enable doctoral candidates to pursue their dissertation research in India.

National Museum of the American Indian Internship ProgramJuly 12, 2018Internships are provided for students interested in the museum profession and related fields. Locations are in Maryland, Washington D.C. or New York for a duration of 10 weeks.

Thomas Marshall Graduate Student Award July 15, 2018 (anticipated) Designed to encourage students to become active members of ASTR by helping them meet the expenses of attending the ASTR annual meeting.

Helen Krich Chinoy Dissertation Fellowship July 15, 2018 (anticipated) The total award amount of $3000 is typically divided into three equal awards. It is intended to assist Ph.D. candidates with the expenses of travel to national and international collections to conduct research projects connected with their dissertations.

Institute for Humane Studies Conference and Research GrantDeadline: Rolling, at least four weeks before activity for which you are seeking fundingGrants awarded to graduate students advancing the principles of freedom through their career to present at academic or professional conferences, travel to academic job interviews on a campus or at a conference, travel to archives or libraries for research, and participate in career-development seminars.

U.S. Department of Energy Carlsbad Field Office Fellowship Program Deadline: See website for openingsThe Department of Energy (DOE) CBFO Program provides the opportunity to conduct mission-oriented research in DOE’s CBFO in Carlsbad, New Mexico, or at other sites throughout the DOE complex.

International Ocean Discovery Program ExpeditionThe International Ocean Discovery Program (IODP) is an international research collaboration that coordinates seagoing expeditions to study the history of the Earth recorded in sediments and rocks beneath the ocean floor. The JOIDES Resolution Science Operator (JRSO) operates the scientific drillship JOIDES Resolution on behalf of the National Science Foundation.

Lindau Nobel Laureate MeetingOnce every year, about 30 Nobel Laureates convene at Lindau to meet the next generation of leading scientists: 400-500 undergraduates, PhD students, and post-doc researchers from all over the world. The Lindau Nobel Laureate Meetings foster the exchange among scientists of different generations, cultures, and disciplines.

Internships with the Middle East Program April 1, 2018; July 15, 2018The Program concentrates on long-term developments and how such issues impact stability and growth in the region and its relations with the United States. The Middle East Program’s meetings, conferences and reports assess the policy implications of regional developments (political, economic, and social), the Middle East’s role in the international arena, American interests in the region, strategic threats to and from the regional states, and the role and future prospects of the region’s energy resources.

Pediatric Endocrinology Nursing Society Academic Education Scholarship April 1, 2018This scholarship was implemented as a means of helping PENS to meet its goal of advancing the art and science of pediatric endocrine nursing. The PENS is committed to increasing the knowledge base and enhancing the professional development of nurses in the field of pediatric endocrinology.

Florida-China Linkage Institute Tuition Exemption ProgramApril 1, 2018This exemption program is open to citizens of China (from mainland China, Hong Kong, Macao, or Taiwan) who are studying at a Florida public university or community college and intend to return to China after their study.

Cheryl Allyn Miller AwardApril 3, 2018 (anticipated)Award recognizes a sociology graduate student, or a recent doctorate, whose research or activism constitutes an outstanding contribution to the field of women and work.

Florida Space Grant Consortium Masters Fellowship ProgramApril 7, 2018 (anticipated)The FSGC Masters Fellowship Program provides a prestigious instrument to reward and attract the best and the brightest US citizens to space-related careers. The program is also designed to enhance cooperation among FSGC-affiliated university faculty and peers in industry, government and private laboratories. Accordingly, each Fellow will receive an Academic Year 2017-2018 fellowship stipend of $10,000 for full-time masters students.

Department of Transportation Dwight D. Eisenhower Transportation FellowshipApril 14, 2018 (anticipated)Provides funding for the pursuit of Master’s or Doctorate Degrees in transportation related discipline. The Eisenhower Graduate Fellowship Program encompasses all modes of transportation.

ORISE Evaluation Fellowship Opportunity at the CDCApril 14, 2018 (anticipated)Fellows work under the leadership of the CDC’s chief Evaluation Officer; they are matched with CDC host programs to work on program evaluation activities for/with those programs. Host programs are selected through a competitive process to ensure the activities build the knowledge base of the program and enhance the professional development of the Fellow.

IFER Graduate Fellowship Program for Alternatives to the Use of Animals in ScienceApril 30, 2018The purpose of IFER’s Fellowship Program is to provide financial incentives to graduate students in science that encourage them at the earliest stages of their career to integrate innovation and discovery with ethics and respect for animals.

Lieutenant Colonel Lily H. Gridley Memorial Master’s Thesis FellowshipMay 1, 2018A $3,500 thesis fellowship. Topics in U.S. military and naval history, as well as history and history-based studies in the social and behavioral sciences, with a direct relationship to the history of the United States Marine Corps will be considered.

Spencer Educational Foundation RIMS Part-time Master’s ScholarshipMay 1, 2018 (anticipated)The Spencer Educational Foundations awards Part-time Master’s Scholarships to risk practitioners who attend graduate school part-time or online, while working full-time. American Nurses Foundation Research GrantsMay 1, 2018 (anticipated)The purpose of the American Nurses Foundation Nursing Research Grants Program is to encourage the research career development of all nurses. Each year, the Foundation provides funds to beginning and experienced nurse researchers to conduct studies that contribute toward the advancement of nursing science and the enhancement of patient outcomes. Awards are given in all areas of nursing, including healthy patient outcomes, health care policy development, critical care, gerontology, women’s health, child health, community and family intervention, and leadership.

American Hotel and Lodging Educational Fund Graduate ScholarshipMay 1, 2018The program is open to hospitality management graduate students as well as graduate students who have an undergraduate hospitality management degree or at least four years’ employment in the industry.

Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences Nicholl Fellowships in ScreenwritingMay 1, 2018Up to five fellowships for promising new writers. Fellows are expected to complete a feature-length screenplay during the fellowship year.

IEEE Life Members Graduate Study Fellowship in Electrical EngineeringMay 1, 2018Award for first year, full-time graduate student for work in electrical engineering.

NCAA Graduate Student Research GrantMay 1, 2018Research grants for students conducting research within the general topic areas of student-athlete psychosocial well-bring and college athletics participation.

American Psychological Foundation

American Psychological Foundation/The Trust Eric A. Harris, EdD, JD Grant May 1, 2018 $5,000 to support an early career psychologists or graduate student for research or projects in the area of ethics and risk management.

American Psychological Foundation Violet and Cyril Franks Scholarship May 15, 2018 The APF Violet and Cyril Franks Scholarship supports graduate-level scholarly projects that use a psychological perspective to help understand and reduce stigma associated with mental illness. The scholarship helps address research which shows that stigma is a significant barrier to treatment and recovery for many of the 50 million Americans living with mental illness.

Scholarships in Waste Management Research and EducationMay 4, 2018 (anticipated)Waste management research and education. Scholarships recognize graduate students pursuing excellence in solid waste management research and education. Recipients are chosen based on credentials and potential contributions to the solid waste industry and its scientific community.

Mozilla Fellowships for ScienceMay 14, 2018 (anticipated)Researchers working to shift research practice to be more collaborative, iterative and open. Fellows remain at their home institution but receive training and support from Mozilla to hone their skills around open source and data sharing.

Clara Mayo GrantsMay 15, 2018This program was set up to support masters’ theses or pre-dissertation research on aspects of sexism, racism, or prejudice, with preference given to students enrolled in a terminal master’s program. Studies of the application of theory or the design of interventions or treatments to address these problems are welcome.

ACRP: Graduate Research Award Program on Public-Sector Aviation IssuesMay 17, 2018 (anticipated)Stipend for graduate students researching airport and related aviation system issues. The program is intended to stimulate thought, discussion, and research by those who may become the future airport managers, operators, designers, and policy makers in aviation.

Florida Outdoor Writers Association ScholarshipMay 19, 2018 (anticipated)FOWA Scholarships are competitive and open to students at Florida colleges and universities, or to any student whose application is endorsed by a FOWA member or a faculty advisor. Up to three scholarships of $1,000 each are awarded. These scholarships are intended for college-aged students whose career goals are to communicate to the public appreciation for hunting, fishing and other aspects of the outdoor experience.

Richard A. Horovitz Fund for Professional DevelopmentMay 21, 2018 (anticipated)Dedicated to African artists and scholars in the humanities and social sciences that are citizens of a Sub-Saharan African country. Graduate students, researchers or artists in a program at an accredited U.S. university, cultural or artistic institution (on a F or J visa).

National Wildlife Federation EcoLeaders ProgramMay 21, 2018 (anticipated)Fellowship program to help students develop sustainability leadership skills and secure great jobs that help the planet. There are for fellowship opportunities: NWF EcoLeaders Community Management Assessment Fellow, NWF EcoLeaders Market Research Fellow, NWF EcoLeaders Career and Technical Education Fellow, NWF EcoLeaders Labor Economist Research Fellow.

Tampa Bay Seminole Club Graduate Student ScholarshipMay 31, 2018 (anticipated)It is the goal of the Tampa Bay Seminole club to continue our commitment towards further building a pipeline between Hillsborough and Pasco county high schools and Florida State University. Candidates must be a graduate of a Hillsborough or Pasco county high school and have proof of acceptance into a graduate program at FSU or graduate coursework completed.

Florida House of Representatives Legislative Intern ProgramMay 31, 2018 (anticipated)Intern program that gives students legislative and policy experience working on projects, bills, amendments, and analysis. The internship pays a stipend and tuition.

Thermo Fisher Scientific Antibody Scholarship ProgramMay 31, 2018The scholarship is offered to graduate students in biology, chemistry, biochemistry or a related life science field.

Florida Nurses Association Foundation GrantsJune 1, 2018The Florida Nurses Foundation exists to promote nursing and delivery of healthcare through the advancement of research, education and practice. Each year, funds are provided to registered nurses and students for scholarships and research grants. Multiple scholarships and research grants available for nursing students.

Kenneth and Barbara Starks Plant Resistance to Insects Graduate Student AwardJune 1, 2018 (anticipated)The award recognizes innovative research by a graduate student in entomology or plant breeding/genetics whose work contributes significantly to knowledge of plant resistance to insects.

Archives of American Art Fellowships and InternshipsJune 1, 2018Multiple internships of at least 10 weeks for students interested in archival science, information management, museum studies, art, administration, art history, and cultural studies.
