Introducing Ben Allitt, Manager Higher Education and Pathways

Ben joined Chisholm in 2017 as the Course Coordinator for the Bachelor of Mental Health, Alcohol and Other Drugs and has recently been appointed into the role of Manager Higher Education and Pathways.

With a wealth of experience across academia, having worked previously at Monash University, RMIT University and Latrobe University, Ben feels very passionate about ensuring that all students are given every opportunity to reach their true potential through education.

What is your vision for Higher Education at Chisholm? I am really keen to keep offering quality courses through Chisholm and our partnerships and have stronger pathways moving forward between vocational education (our VET courses) and higher education.

What do love about working at Chisholm? I really love the sense of community at Chisholm and being able to work with such a diverse group of people. I also enjoying meeting so many of our students and hopefully assist them along the way with their pathways and future careers.

How is Chisholm different to other TAFEs and Universities? I think Chisholm is different to other TAFES and Universities because we are very inclusive and also really cater to the local area and think about our local area in course development. It then gives our students and staff the opportunities to make a real impact in our local South East region.

What is the key benefit of doing a degree at Chisholm? The key benefit of higher education at Chisholm is that we focus on having very strong theoretical and practical components in all of our programs and have close industry ties so that our degrees are well suited to strong practical outcomes.

How to reach Ben For any queries about higher education email [email protected] or call 0438 612 733.
