Analysis Of the Obtain Data
The present study is designed and conducted to study emotional intelligence,
anxiety and adjustment of intermediate tribal and non tribal students of East
inghbhum! "t may be recorded that #e ha$e selected the sample by using
strati%ed random sampling techni&ue! The strati%cation is based on ethnicity
'tribal and non tribal(, gender 'male and female(, socio economic status 'high
socio economic and lo# socio economic status( and place of residence 'rural
and urban(! Thus the sample is based on )x)x)x)*+ factorial design! "neach of the + sub group researcher has selected ) cases! To .eep the study
focused three objecti$es #ere framed!
On the basis of the objecti$es six hypotheses #ere framed and tested! They
are as follo#s/

1 The le$el of emotional intelligence, anxiety and adjustment #ill not
$ary in intermediate students as a #hole and in its di2erent sub-
groups!1 The non-tribal students #ill not di2er signi%cantly in emotional
intelligence, anxiety and adjustment than tribal students!
1 3emale students #ill not di2er signi%cantly in emotional
intelligence, anxiety and adjustment than male students!
1 rban students #ill not di2er signi%cantly in emotional intelligence,
anxiety and adjustment than rural students!
1 The students of high socio-economic status #ill not di2er
signi%cantly in emotional intelligence, anxiety and adjustment than
the students of lo# socio-economic status!
1 Emotional intelligence #ill ha$e a signi%cant positi$e correlation
#ith adjustment and a negati$e correlation #ith anxiety!

The main effect of residence is found significant at .1 level on adjustment. !n other
"ords students belonging to rural and urban areas differ significantly on their level of
adjustment. #&upportive studies$.
The main effect of #'$ socio economic status is also found significant at .1 level,
means students of high socio economic status and lo" socio economic status differ
significantly on their level of adjustment #supportive studies$.
Interaction Effects
The interaction effect of ()* #gender + ethnicity$ is found statistically significant at .1
level. !n other "ords gender and ethnicity affects the level of adjustment among the
students.
The interaction effect of () #gender ) residence$ is F - 7.25 found statistically
significant at #p.1$ level. !t can be concluded that gender and residence jointly affects
the level of adjustment of students. The interactions effect of *+ #ethnicity ) residence$
is found statistically significant. %eans both jointly influence the level of students/
adjustment. The joint effect of ethnicity and socio economic status is found significant at
.1 level. The inter action effect of residence and socio economic status is also found
significant at .1 level. The interaction effect of gender and socio economic status is
also found significant at .1 level. !n onclusion it can be stated that both factor namely
gender and socio economic status jointly affects the level of adjustment of the students.
Second Order InteractionThe second order interaction of #()*))'$ gender, ethnicity, residence and socio
economic status is found significant at #p.1$ level.
