Materialism is the belief that money and things it can buy, like comforts and goods, alone are important and morals come only next.

1

“Whoever said money can't buy happiness simply didn't know where to go shopping”.

“The things you own end up owning you. It's only after you lose everything that you're” free to do anything.”

“The things you own end up owning you. It's only after you lose everything that you're” free to do anything.”

It is natural, therefore, that we may become distracted from spiritual or intellectual pursuits by material possessions, but this is frequently where problems occur. We can become obsessed by a desire to obtain them, or simply frustrated by the need to maintain them.

Materialism, at its simpler level, involves the focus on material “things” as opposed to that which is spiritual or intellectual in nature. We live in a world surrounded by and composed of matter.

5“How come anything you buy will go on sale next week”.

Materialism is the importance placed on material possessions. Someone with a high level of materialism, described as "materialistic," considers material possessions to be central to their life and their identity, and focuses a good deal of their energy on acquiring possessions. Someone with a low level of materialism,

6

described as “non-materialistic,” or “not materialistic,” does not consider acquiring possessions to be particularly important, although they vary in the extent to which they acquire material possessions in order to meet other objectives, such as social acceptance.

Greed might be one of the biggest flaws of the human race. We are never satisfied. We always want more. This might have been born by centuries of struggling to survive. Whoever has the most gets the most.

You’d think that humans would have gotten over this after all the evolution that we’ve gone through but the headlines on newspapers would tell us otherwise. People kill for money because people have an insatiable lust for it.

“Earth provides enough to satisfy every man’s needs, but not every man’s greed.”

9

“If everyone demanded peace instead of another television set, then there’d be peace” John Lennon.

10

Shopping is such an activity which gives not only pleasure but also takes good amount of time. To save the time spent in shopping, people now days, are opting for online shopping modes which has become one of the best mode for shopping. There are number of websites which are into the online business.

People are following the rules of such websites and are enjoying the pleasure of shopping with them. One has to be awv knowledge of the new and unaware customers, let me tell every one reading this article, timtara is an online brand which is offering every type of electronic items.

Only the man, who does not need it, is fit to inherit wealth–the man who would make his own fortune no matter where he started. If an heir is equal to his money, it serves him; if not, it destroys him. But you look on and you cry that money corrupted him. Did it? Or did he corrupt his money? Do not envy a worthless heir; his wealth is not yours and you would have done no better with it. Do you not think that it should have been distributed among you; loading the world with fifty parasites instead of one. Would not bring back the dead virtue which was the fortune. Money is a living power that dies without its root. Money will not serve the mind that cannot match it. Money is your means of survival.

12

The saddest thing i can imagine is to get used to luxury”. Charlie Chaplin

13“How pointless life could be, what a foolish business of inventing things to love, just so you could dread losing them.”

14

15“To what faults do you feel most indulgent? to the ones that arise from urgent material need”

16

There are as many reasons to overshop as there are overshoppers. Each one is a way of attempting to deal with thorny individual issues and unmet personal needs; each is based on what real overshoppers have told me over the years.

Some of the most common are to so the the self and improve a negative mood state, to counteract a negative self image and a lack of self acceptance, or to avoid dealing with something important in life.

17

Materialism is the belief that money and things it can buy, like comforts and goods, alone are important and morals come only next. Most people in the world pursue materialism; that is, they give more importance to a life of money, comforts, and pleasures.

18“Materialism is a man using his wealth to rival with other man.”

Our economy is based on spending billions to persuade people that happiness is buying things, and then insisting that the only way to have a viable economy is to make things for people to buy so they’ll have jobs and get enough money to buy things.

“Our world invovles of people been told happiness is buying materilism”

21

And whilst we hate to think it, we are paying brand names to advertise them. When you buy a Nike shirt, you pay them money to show everyon else their logo! Shouldn’t they be paying us?.

“We are the slaves to object around us, and appear little or important according as these contract or give us room to expand.”

In our modern world we are built around image, the image you create for yourself by what you wear, drive, drink, listen to, even what we eat. Instead of thinking what actions will help hothers, be useful and create a good reputation for myself we think what brand will make me popular, in style, and look good.

23“If money’s the god people worship, I’d rather go worship the devil instead.”

24

It is tempting to say that money is the root of all evil with people seemingly scrambling about doing inhuman, if not entirely unspeakable acts that show no regard whatsoever for the well-being of others only to add a few numbers to their bank account, or add some pieces of paper to their wallets.

However, when you examine things more closely, you’ll see that it is not money per se that leads to this. In my opinion, it is the lust for money, and for what it can buy, that causes this entire ruckus.

26

“Money is the root of all evil”

MATERIALISM AND THE CONSUMERS
