ence proposers to have a

assment, other forms of har-

assment, or sexual assault,

and that includes clear and

accessible means of report-

ing violations of the policy or

code-of-conduct.

Subawards, has been updat-

ed to clarify that the descrip-

tion of the work to be per-

formed by the subaward

must be included in the pro-

ject description.

Synergistic Activities section

of the biographical sketch

has been revised to specify

that a list should include up

to five distinct examples that

demonstrate the broader

impact of the individual’s

professional and scholarly

activities that focuses on the

integration and transfer of

knowledge as well as its

creation.

Biographical Sketch(es), has

been updated to specify that

the biographical sketch must

be uploaded in FastLane as

a single PDF file, or other

NSF-approved template.

NOTE: At this time, Rutgers

NSF proposals continue to be

submitted through NSF Fastlane.

Principal Investigators planning to

submit a proposal to the National

Science Foundation (NSF)

should review the NSF Proposal

& Award Policies & Procedures

Guide (PAPPG). Here is the

link to the new PAPPG, February

2019—https://www.nsf.gov/

publications/pub_summ.jsp?

ods_key=nsf19001. The new

NSF PAPPG is effective Febru-

ary 25, 2019. Significant

changes and clarifications to the

PAPPG are available here—

https://www.nsf.gov/pubs/

policydocs/pappg19_1/

sigchanges.jsp.

Unless noted otherwise in the

program announcement, it is al-

ways imperative to follow the

instructions provided in the

PAPPG.

Here are some highlights of the

significant changes to the NSF

PAPPG (see the full list of chang-

es at https://www.nsf.gov/pubs/

policydocs/pappg19_1/

sigchanges.jsp):

NSF Proposal Preparation

and Submission, has been

updated to provide infor-

mation about the moderniza-

tion of the proposal prepara-

tion functionality in Re-

search.gov. The new cover-

age specifies that the on-

screen instructions in Re-

search.gov may differ from

what is stated in the PAPPG

and that the on-screen in-

structions must be followed.

Collaborators and other affili-

ations information should not

be included in the biograph-

ical sketch but attached as a

single copy document. NSF

now has a template for Col-

laborators and Other Affilia-

tions. Please see the new

NSF PAPPG and the

NSF.gov website for guid-

ance.

Resubmission, has been

revised to establish that NSF

programs that accept pro-

posals at any time may have

guidelines in which a de-

The New Rutgers Budget Template There is a new Rutgers budget template. The Rutgers budget template is designed to assist those working on budgets for proposals. The budget template has the fringe benefit rates built right into the form. Also, there is the ability to select the appropri-ate indirect cost rate for the pro-posed project. The budget tem-plate should be completed for proposals and is required for all awards.

It is strongly advised that a new budget template be down-loaded for each new proposal as fringe rates or indirect cost rates may change periodically. Using an old template would cause a major discrepancy in the true total project cost. The Office of Sponsored Re-search can provide training for the Rutgers budget template if you have any problems with us-ing it.

The Rutgers budget template is available at http://orsp.rutgers.edu/budget-template. Be sure to use the Rutgers Budget Actual Com-bined 190222 budget template. For applications that include mandatory cost share the Rut-gers Budget Actual Cost Sharing Template is required.

Introduction to the Research Computing Ecosystem at Rutgers Students, faculty, and staff are invited to an information session about the Rutgers University

Research Computing Ecosystem including: resources, expertise, and workshops.

Title: Introduction to the Research Computing Ecosystem at Rutgers

Room

Description: We invite the Rutgers research community to come join us to learn about the pow-

erful research computing resources and expertise that are available to them in the Rutgers research

computing ecosystem. The available resources and services span computational and data-analytics

hardware, software, system administration, and programming support. These resources complement

those available through the individual schools and departments. Seminars and workshops on a variety

of relevant topics, tools and techniques necessary for computational and data-enabled research, as

well as opportunities for research collaborations are also available.
