Preparing to Upgrade

When you upgrade WebDocs - iSeries Edition, you will replace the RJSIMAGE library, including

all data related to your stored files. To make sure that you do not lose any data during the

upgrade, you need to do the following to back up the RJSIMAGE library and any modifications

you have made to WebDocs:

1. Notify all users that WebDocs will be down during the upgrade, including users of RJS Imaging Scan Workstation, Batch Import Utility, and any other application that checks in documents to WebDocs.

2. Shut down any clients that interact with WebDocs, such as DeliverNow, RJS Imaging Scan Workstation, Batch Import Utility, and so on.

3. Shut down any WebDocs web server instances:

a. From the main menu, choose 25. View HTTP Server Subsystem Status - WRKSBSJOB to check the subsystem QHTTPSVR for instances of the HTTP server that are running.

b. From the main menu, choose 26. Stop HTTP Web Server - ENDTCPSVR and end the instance that is running WebDocs.

4. Make sure that no one has a lock on:

a. The menu in the RJSIMAGE library: WRKOBJLCK RJSIMAGE/RJSIMAGE *MENU

b. The library itself: WRKOBJLCK RJSIMAGE *LIB Note: If you see some locks and you have questions, contact RJS Software.

5. Make note of all of the following that use objects in the RJSIMAGE library, so that you can restore them after upgrading:

Exit programs.

Command defaults.

Triggers added to any RJSIMAGE files.

Logical files over any RJSIMAGE files.

Programs you have created that use files in RJSIMAGE. Note: If you are not sure if you have any such programs or if your programs will require updating, contact RJS Software.

6. Use the CPYLIB command to make a back-up copy of your current RJSIMAGE library. Give the copy a name that is meaningful to you. For example: RJSIMAGEV2 or RJSIMGMMDD, where MM is the month and DD is the day. Warning: If you do not back up the RJSIMAGE library, your data will be lost during the upgrade. Note: You can also rename the current RJSIMAGE library as long as it has no locks.

7. If you have made any modifications to the htdocs/RJSIMAGE IFS directory, make a back-up copy of this directory.

Licensing WebDocs

The current version of WebDocs - iSeries Edition has two licenses:

The product license is based on your serial number, model, and LPAR. If you change any of these, you need to contact RJS Software to have your product license re-issued.

The user-count license determines how many WebDocs users you can have.

If your old version of WebDocs - iSeries Edition is:

Below 3.17, you only have a product license. Contact RJS Software for a free user-count license for unlimited users.

3.17 or above, you have both a product license and a user-count license.

Use the licenses you received after purchasing WebDocs, or contact RJS Software.

The email from RJS Software will include instructions on how to copy and paste the codes onto

a command line.

Troubleshooting

If you are installing the library and you get an error message at Step 4 - Clear and Restore

Library that some objects could not be deleted, this topic shows you how to find the objects

with locks and end them:

Finding the Objects with Locks

1. View the objects in library RJSIMAGE that could not be cleared: DSPLIB RJSIMAGE

2. Depending on which objects display in this list, do one or both of the following:

If there are objects with type *FILE, there are probably Apache server instances running. To resolve this issue, see Ending Apache Server Instances.

If the object RJSIMAGE with type *MENU displays, someone is probably in the main menu. To resolve this issue, see Removing Locks on the Main Menu.

Ending Apache Server Instances

1. Choose one of the files that could not be cleared and find out what has a lock on it. For example: If the file is DOCFLR00, use: WRKOBJLCK RJSIMAGE/DOCFLR00 *FILE A list of web server jobs that have a lock on that object displays.

WebDocs – iSeries Edition Upgrade Guide

Release date: November 5, 2012 Page 13

Note: The user QTMHHTTP is the default for web-server jobs.

2. End the web server job you found in step 1. For example: If the web server job is WD32200, use: ENDTCPSVR *HTTP HTTPSVR(WD32200)

3. Verify that the lock was released. For example: If the file is DOCFLR00, use: WRKOBJLCK RJSIMAGE/DOCFLR00 *FILE There should be no jobs listed. Note: It may take a few minutes for jobs to end.

4. (Optional) If the jobs do not end in a timely manner, manually end them:

a. Work with web server jobs: WRKSBSJOB QHTTPSVR

Release date: November 5, 2012 Page 14

b. Find any jobs with the name from step 1 that are not ending.

c. Type 4 next to each one.

d. On a command line, type: OPTION(*IMMED) LOGLMT(0) SPLFILE(*YES)

e. Press Enter.

5. In the library installer, run step 4 again. The installer is now able to clear the library.

Removing Locks on the Main Menu

1. Find out which user has a lock on the main menu: WRKOBJLCK RJSIMAGE/RJSIMAGE *MENU A list of users who are in the menu displays.

2. Tell the user who is in the menu to leave the menu.

3. After the user has left the menu, verify that the lock was released: WRKOBJLCK RJSIMAGE/RJSIMAGE *MENU There should be no jobs listed.
