In addition to the above, it is proposed to use the latest technology and state of the art integrated highway management and communication systems to operate the main tunnel, (SCADA and TCS systems). As with any project of this magnitude, it has its fair share of challenges, however what makes this project so unique, and stands way out above the rest, is the major challenges’ in dealing with pedestrians, live traffic through the city centre, adjacent buildings and above all the mammoth task of diverting the main arteries of utility services that runs through the city.
