Participants learn best practice business principles and have the opportunity to engage in clinical and administrative observerships to gain real-world experience in a leading global health care system. By leveraging its expertise as a world-renowned academic medical center, UPMC offers a two-week International Health Care Management Program headquartered at UPMC East Hospital, the health system’s newest facility. Throughout the Program, participants engage in multidisciplinary experiences focused on the latest in health care management and clinical topics. With the additional opportunity to collaborate with executive leadership, Program participants are given the resources needed to help lead health care organizations and support the delivery of high-quality health care back home. PROGRAM STRUCTURE

UPMC’s International Training Center International Health Care Management Program is designed considering each participant’s distinct professional goals. The Program features educational seminars, workshop sessions, and observation and shadowing opportunities. The International Health Care Management Program focuses on the following core competencies: Quality and Safety, Leadership, Operations and Planning, and Finance & Information Technology. Seminars will be conducted by UPMC executive leadership.

ADDITIONAL EXPOSURE

Throughout the Program, a speaker series and guided UPMC site visits will take place to enhance the International Health Care Management Program experiences. These activities will focus on the patient-centered and innovative practices that drive UPMC.

LOGISTICS

Participants of the International Health Care Management Program within the UPMC International Training Center will be responsible prior to attendance for obtaining visas and arranging transportation to and from Pittsburgh. Transportation to the Program’s planned activities will be provided for participants. Lodging recommendations are available upon request.

OTHER PROGRAM OPPORTUNITIES
