CICCA: Children’s
Sacraments
Parents of all children 7 years and older are invited to register them for the Sacrament program. Step 1: Contact the parish office 3849 7158 and register your child who will receive a Mass card. Step 2: Come along with your child to any of the weekend parish Masses to enable your child to learn the ropes, feel confident in the church, participate in the liturgy as he/she is ready and begins to feel at home. Step 3: As Fr Pat gets to know you and your child he will write and ask you to take the next step. Step 4: Children are enrolled in the Sacrament Program and will attend family centred activity sessions to prepare for the celebration of Confirmation and First Communion. Registration to reception of the Sacraments usually takes approximately 6 months. It is tailored individually for families and children.

With hearts full of gratitude we
Farewell Fr John It is with sadness, yet joy and thanksgiving, that we invite you to farewell Fr John Worthington who has been serving in our parish for many
years. Fr John is returning to Sydney this week.
Fr John, you have been so much to so many people. Friend, counsellor, wise man, jokester and you taught us all how to laugh at ourselves and always be grateful - not taking too much for granted. We have watched your courage and faith as you battled with illness during this time. Now, we watch in awe as you begin this next stage of your journey. Know that you are in our prayers and thoughts as you return to Sydney for the next stage of your journey. You are an inspiration to us all. God bless you always.
St Bernard’s, St Catherine’s & St Martin’s and the whole parish team.

5th SUNDAY IN ORD. TIME/B - 4 February 2018 ♫ PROCESSIONAL: GATHER US IN
1. Here in this place new light is streaming, now is the darkness vanished away. See in this space our fears and our dreamings, brought here to you in the light of this day. Gather us in the lost and forsaken, gather us in the blind and the lame; Call to us now, and we shall awaken, we shall arise at the sound of our name.
2. We are the young our lives are a myst’ry, we are the old who yearn for your face, we have been sung throughout all of hist’ry, called to be light to the whole human race. Gather us in the rich and the haughty, gather us in the proud and the strong; Give us a heart so meek and so lowly, give us the courage to enter the song.
3. Here we will take the wine and the water, here we will take the bread of new birth, here you shall call your sons and your daughters, call us anew to be salt for the earth. Give us to drink the wine of compassion, give us to eat the bread that is you; Nourish us well, and teach us to fashion, lives that are holy and hearts that are true.
