The Moose Honors our Community Heroes!
From January 1st through April 30th, 2017, Moose International and the Upper Rogue Lodge will waive all first year’s fees and dues for active military personnel AND first responders. If you know someone who is serving our country or provides first responder services for our community, now is a great time to offer them a membership in the Moose! There is absolutely NO CHARGE to them for the first year. It is our hope that they will learn about the great things we do for children, seniors, and our communities. Bring them in and sign them up!
Texas Hold ‘em every Monday and
Thursday at 6pm! We have house
dealers so you don’t have worry
about knowing how to play…just
come on down and join the fun!
Special Dinners every Friday Night!
The Rocker Fund contest is on! The Women have
challenged the men for this Moosehaven fundraiser. Look
for the rockers in the dining room. Put your name and
amount on the card and take it to the bartender. Let’s see
who has the biggest heart for Moosehaven!

Governor’s Corner
Dale has been restructuring the bar and kitchen personnel and
seems to have gotten the final link in place. Welcome our new
bartenders Kathleen, Kenneth, Monica, Jaime, Augenaet, and
Sue ~ by stopping in for a drink and pleasant conversation.
All the broken and leaking parts are now repaired, doors are
working on card lock, credit card machine is in and working,
(come on down Roger) we even have a Valentine’s Day dance
coming up with the Diamonds and Denim combo playing
everyone’s favorites, and our monthly “Steak Night” and
Friday night meals to write home about.
Our hard-working Events Committee is working on putting
together some real exciting stuff. Some possible events
include a weekly Farmer’s Market and a return of the Queen
of Hearts raffle.
There is always something fun happening at the Lodge so
drop in a couple of times a week, see old friends, try your
luck at liar’s dice, Keno, Lottery or meeting new folks. In the
words of Bob Barkers announcer Rod Roddy ~ “Come on
Down!”
I want to thank all the folks that kicked in to make our District
Meeting a success. We didn’t win much but the
accommodations (Bar, Food, Setup) were tops.
Pam is busy with tax season and we thank her for all the work
she put in for us.
Fraternally,
Nick Barbato

Please consider nominating or volunteering for office…we
NEED you! We promise it’s a very worthy and rewarding
experience and we will support, encourage, and help you along
the way. Our Chapter and Lodge are depending on you for your
help and input to keep this little train chugging along.
Hello Everyone –
As we head into 2017, we need to think
about where we are going and how we
can improve things at our Lodge.
Most of the housework has been done (Many thanks to Dale,
Jerry and Nick) so now we need to increase our
membership. If we don’t get more people involved, we will
slowly sink into the sunset!
For the next 3 months, there is a campaign going on that
waives all fees and dues for first responders and active
military. These are EXACTLY the people we need to get
involved! Let’s all try to think of someone we can bring in. I
know we all want to keep this Lodge open. Please consider
filling a Board position and pitching in to help. Our elections
are coming up in April and we NEED YOU!
We need an Administrator and Governor, along with several
other officers. If you have any questions, please talk to me.
Sincerely,
Lonnie Allison mailto:[email protected]
So, happy am I to have our bartenders pretty
much in line. They’re being delivered their
marching orders (schedules) as this is written.
A Special Thank you from Judy Barbato
I just want to send out my personal thanks to Kim and Dennis
Martin AND Jerry and Georgia Zieman for stepping up at the
drop of a hat and coming in to help cook on more than one
occasion in the last month. You guys are lifesavers! Thanks for
being GREAT Moose members!
Spring Conference March 9th~ 12
th
Klamath Falls
It’s time to nominate our new board! Please submit your name and any position that you would like to hold. Our nominating committee will meet after each regular monthly meeting. The elections will be held on March 15th and Installations will be April 22nd. We are planning a High Tea luncheon on April 8th so mark your calendar! Our Fourth Annual Easter Egg hunt will be April 15th this year. We need lots of candy, quarters, and baskets. Alicia Bingham donated bags full of plastic eggs so we’re good there. Please put donations in the Blue Barrel. Thank you poker players for being so generous during our January fundraiser! Patty Stoerlle was our chairperson and the money goes toward Activities and Sports therapy at Mooseheart. The Rocker fundraiser is on! Please place your money in the box and your name on the Rocker form and tape it on the dining room door. All proceeds go directly to Moosehaven for Christmas. This year we donated $358.05 to 10 families for food and we spent a total of $1,469.49 for gifts for 32 children, $154 for gift cards for our sunshine grandparents and children making the total amount of $1,988.25. Thank you, thank you! I love all those who helped shop, wrap, deliver, and support us from the bottom of my heart! Also, another big thank you to Lucky's and the Dollar General store who donated to the Christmas Family Project. Our theme for the OMA conference this year is flower power. We need to make a centerpiece for one of the tables. If you have any ideas let me know. We are still collecting box tops and dimes in the bar and we will turn all this stuff in it at the conference in March. One more thank you and bless you as we donated $576, drove 175 miles, and worked 30 hours for our community. Also an additional $200 was donated to the Upper Rogue Community Center! Thank you for all your service and time! Please come to our meetings and give us new ideas and insights as to what you want to happen in our Lodge. Men and women both! We're here to work together and help our community.
Fraternally,
Vicki Cool

Co-worker of the Month Marla Allison
Marla’s name comes up a lot around here and there are plenty of good reasons for that! Between the newsletters, web updates, facebook postings, email blasts, Event Committee duties, and the Administrator’s office, she has a lot to do. Marla has been a vital cog in the wheel and we just want her to know that we really appreciate her and everything she does! Thank You Marla!
Volunteers of the Month
Jerry and Georgia Zieman
Jerry is our Go-To Guy whenever we have an issue or a problem here at the Lodge and he is quick to show up and lend a hand whenever we call! He has served on the LOOM Board in many capacities over the years and he really cares about this organization! Georgia has also been a part of the Upper Rogue Lodge for a long time and we are so happy that she is stepping up to make sure things run as smoothly as possible. It’s people like Jerry and Georgia that are keeping this ship afloat. Many thanks to you both for always being there for us!
Welcome new member!
