THE networking programme for EU cities on urban issues
Overview of URBACT II
• 52 networks involving 450 cities across 27 MS + NO and CH• + 4000 local stakeholders involved• + 260 action plans produced (80% being implemented)
• Capitalisation on knowledge (e.g. Cities of Tomorrow: Action today)
• Capacity-building on integrated approach & participative action-planning- 27 national seminars for local urban policy-makers/ practitioners- 2 EU level Summer Universities- Pilot Training for Elected representatives
• 9 Pilot networks being launched to test tools for U III

Thematic Coverage selected after consultation with the MS
70% of exchange and learning budget to be dedicated to 5 Thematic Objectives:
strengthening research, technological development and innovation (TO1) supporting the shift towards a low-carbon economy in all sectors (TO4) protecting the environment and promoting resource efficiency (T06) promoting social inclusion and combating poverty (T09) promoting employment and supporting labour mobility (T08)
The remaining 30% will be available for all other themes based on a bottom up approach

participatory approaches, new organisational models, etc.

know-how around thematic priorities, social media activities• Thematic publications (newsletters, policy briefs, case studies, etc.)• Conferences, thematic events, seminars• National Points in charge of communicating on URBACT activities and results,
support cooperation between local, regional, national and EU levels, and embed URBACT results in policies and practices (transfer of good practice)
