Result of the FGD Urban Nexus II in Tanjungpinang – Fixed Urban Nexus Proposal are techncal assistance on: 1. Innovative waste water

management in Senggarang and onsite waste water treatment plant

2. Innovative solid waste management (methane capture, landfill leachete)

Progress Overview – Goverment Inititiative

Development of Biogas Generator on Landfill

Development of Decentralized waste water treatment plant

Current Capacity: • Operating only for the landfill office• 7 m3/hour of biogas• 350 – 400 m3 per day of solid waste

distributionPotential Capacity: • 168 m3/hour of biogas• 600 m3 per day of solid waste

Current Capacity: • Not yet operating, the old one

only serve for 5 % of populationPotential Capacity: • Target to serve 25% of population• Total Black Water Potential :

126,42 m3

Expected Benefits – Senggarang Waterfront Sanitation

Current Condition: -500 households-On site waste water treatment, no septic tank, no sewerage

Expected Benefits: 100% of Senggarang people have access to a proper sanitation.

Expected Benefits – Innovative solid waste management

Current Condition: Total solid waste distribution: 100 – 150 ton / dayPotensial solid waste: 200 – 250 ton / dayBiogas generator can only be used for landfill office

Expected Benefits: - Moving towards zero waste, all

waste is proceed for a better goods.

- Building a new solid waste treatment plant that can be used to light a sub-district.

Key Lessons Learnt

An Urban Nexus perspective: a new way to manage, solve, and plan urban resources (water, energy , food security) integratedly.

Strong support from National Government is urgently needed to implement Urban Nexus Project especially in policy-making level and cooperation legality (MoU)

Financial Support from stakeholders and third parties are also needed to implement Urban Nexus Project phisically.
