URBAN PLANNING + DESIGN
DESIGNING EXPERIENCES. GENERATING VALUE.
Our design approach is based on the depth of our partnership with you.
WHO WE ARE
ROSSETTI’s story unfolds with a 50-year, multi-disciplinary practice focused on architectural design, urban planning, and interior environments. We are a family-owned company, founded and currently headquartered in downtown Detroit. We live by our ethos of designing experiences that generate value for our clients and their communities.
WHAT WE DO
Our design philosophy seeks to amplify experience and value for every project. The basis for designing experiences is to generate value—culturally and financially for our clients.
Experiential design heightens the human senses and imprints positive memories on the sub-conscious mind. Memory making is the root of developing a relationship with an organization, which enriches its culture.
Designing experiences also stimulates financial growth, especially with today’s ‘digital generations.’ Unique and positive experiences are the value proposition that stimulate spending and investment.
HOW WE DO IT
DISCOVERDiscover Workshops uncover each project’s intrinsic value and clarify its unique potential. The outcome sets the foundation for the vision, opportunities and guiding principles.
DAREWe challenge our clients and ourselves not to settle for ordinary and mediocre. Instead, we inspire innovation and fresh thinking.
DELIVEROur strategic approach addresses the cultural and financial goals of our clients. We measure the impact of each project’s success to ensure we deliver the value metrics we promised.

OUR APPROACH
We approach each project with intelligent, creative solutions to ensure new ideas and development are a seamless part of the existing fabric. We believe that connectivity, sustainability, and diversity are cornerstones to creating a sense of community, and our work reflects those values.
Our abilities in research, mapping, policy, community and stakeholder engagement, and graphic storytelling enable our clients and communities to see opportunities with fresh eyes. We look at the broader context within communities beyond project boundaries. We explore the “what ifs”—calculated ideas that accentuate a community to bring enhanced social, commercial, and experiential drivers to the design and to allow clients and communities to achieve mutual goals.

A vibrant sports-anchored development for the Midwest.
This 34-acre sports-anchored development, located adjacent to Lambeau Field, captures the passion of Packer fans and creates a community asset for the entire Green Bay region.
ROSSETTI’s master plan includes a hotel, housing, office, family entertainment areas, retail, and community amenities. The vision for Titletown focused first on creating a vibrant public realm to catalyze residential and office development and to create a vibrant, all-seasons destination. ROSSETTI also created design guidelines to guide the architecture of the district, which reflects the industrial heritage of Green Bay using a contemporary interpretation of local materials, such as brick, steel, and cobblestone.
Phase one was completed in 2017 with the opening of Packard Plaza and Hinterland Brewery, as well as the innovative sledding hill designed on top of a community center with skating river below.

DOUGLASS MASTER PLANDETROIT, MICHIGAN
A forward-looking neighborhood commemorates Detroit’s storied past.
The Douglass Master Plan is the conversion of a former public housing project in the City of Detroit. The design takes into consideration the site’s long history as a residential neighborhood while introducing a greater mix of uses, incomes, lifestyles, and texture. The master plan will not only establish a new urban neighborhood, but also address some of the site’s immense challenges and strengthen its existing assets.
The former 22-acre vacant site located just outside of Downtown is being transformed into a $300-million mixed-use development. The site will serve as a new home to hundreds of Detroiters, a destination for neighborhood services and amenities, and an open space network that knits people and landscape together. ROSSETTI’s master plan for the site includes 900+ mixed-income units across five different housing typologies, 18,000 square feet of neighborhood-scale retail and amenities, 3.2 acres of public open space, and potential for an early childhood education center and boutique hotel.

A mixed-use campus that serves as an important community anchor.
The Youth Village Campus Plan provides a vision for the design and development of a three-block area in Battle Creek to serve as the new home to New Level Sports Ministries’ “Youth Village” campus. Youth Village will be a mixed-use campus that acts as an important community anchor and a place to learn and practice skills related to athletics, education, art, industry, and personal growth.
Through an immersive Discover Workshop, ROSSETTI and stakeholders engaged in a passionate dialogue about the desires and aspirations for Youth Village. ROSSETTI used the agreed upon key values — state-of-the-art, connected, transparent, and holistic — as a guide throughout the design process. The resulting campus plan is a compelling and practical narrative that serves as the blueprint for Youth Village’s future.

A mixed-use development concept as vibrant as the surrounding Mexicantown neighborhood.
ROSSETTI worked in partnership with Astral Weeks Development and Ginosko Development Company to design a mixed-use development concept that offers a vibrant and inclusive model of city living for the next stage of development in Detroit’s Mexicantown neighborhood.
The concept responds to the active Bagley Street commercial corridor with storefront retail and higher density, then gradually tapers in height and intensity as the site slopes toward the railroad tracks. Walk-up units along 16th Street activate this street and reinforce the public realm with residential character. The building offers outdoor rooftop space and resident amenities that celebrate the industrial heritage and iconic views of the location. The concept also overcomes serious challenges including a rail corridor, bridges, and highways by providing enhanced connectivity between neighborhoods and acting as a gateway.

HART PLAZA REDESIGNDETROIT, MICHIGAN
A plan to re-imagine Detroit’s largest civic park.
As a passionate corporate citizen of Detroit and an expert in entertainment design, ROSSETTI became concerned with the current condition of Hart Plaza. The deteriorating infrastructure is unable to sustain large events, and during non-event days the plaza is deserted and unwelcoming.
Our plan aims to inject life into this important civic park at the heart of Downtown Detroit. Our urban planning and landscape design strategy focuses on on creating a vibrant urban plaza that will honor the jazz legacy in Detroit while creating a playful, festival-like environment for people of all ages to enjoy.
ROSSETTI analyzed the challenges and opportunities for the renovation and redevelopment of this vital public asset in Detroit, including exploring potential revenue strategies. The resulting design aims to bring people together, elevate the city’s image, and enhance Detroit’s music scene.
