We did our research by contacting various suppliers for quotations and visiting other churches that had purchased chairs previously. Based on the information we received we opted for Rosehill chairs. Rosehill were happy to supply sample chairs and colour swatches which helped us make the decision to proceed with the R1 chair and fabric from the stain repellent Flamblend range. We chose two shades of blue – one for the armless and one for the armchairs.

Located right at the heart of the market town of Newton Abbot in beautiful South Devon. It was over 15 years ago when the congregations from The United Reform Church and The Methodist Church merged to form The Avenue Methodist and United Reformed Church.

The chairs have had a dramatic effect. The light wood and red fabric really gives the interior the lift required and the flexibility of the chairs is important during the monthly 9.30am “All Ages Together” service for the younger members of the church which also helps us maintain our existing congregation whilst encouraging new members into the church.”“For the Main Hall we went for the R59 Multi-Purpose chairs from Rosehill. The roll-front
seat pad was by far the most comfortable of several chairs from different suppliers.
The chairs are upholstered in a stain resistant fabric as they are regularly used for mums and tots, coffee mornings and many other functions. We find them very comfortable, practical and easy to move with the transport trolley provided. The chairs can be used around tables or linked in rows and then neatly stacked away.”
