ART + PRODUCTION INTERN Internship Description: The art and production internship at Rhode Island Monthly is an opportunity to experience working in an art and production department at a successful magazine. The intern works on sell sheets, signage, web promotions, and other materials for the marketing department and magazine events, both for Rhode Island Monthly magazine and its affiliated publications such as Engaged, Home Design, and others. The intern gains experience in helping to create a unified look for the Rhode Island Monthly brand, under the tutelage of experienced designers. The intern also helps with other projects at the magazine as needed, including production department assistance, and assisting art directors by gathering art and photo research. ARTS & RESEARCH INTERNSHIP Internship Description: WaterFire is first and foremost a evolving artistic expression that tries to greet its visitors with something new each and every time they visit. To accomplish that a lot of thought and effort goes into preparing each event and the performance pieces within them. It is a broad and all-encompassing task to accomplish and WaterFire is currently looking for Intern to help with this effort. This Intern would be involved in all aspects of the event for the purpose of learning not only how a public art organization operates but also how we can collectively communicate our message and vision. They would get experience in marketing, graphic design; grant making, production, artic expression, and merchandising. If you are looking for Internship where you get to touch all parts of an organization and learn about managing the big picture look no further. Responsibilities: •Produce promotional material capturing the experiences of the WaterFire Patrons •Research and strategize projects with the WaterFire Production Staff

ART MUSEUM INTERNSHIP: FALL 2013 - SPRING 2014 Internship Description: (6-18 hours per week, Fridays 10:45-5:00 and variable other hours) The internship position is for assisting with admissions and gift shop operations at the NMAI during the Fall 2013 semester, and/or Winter break and 2014 Spring Semester. Consideration for continuing the internship through the summer months and assisting in museum office operations will be given to interns interested in doing so. The ideal candidate will have enthusiasm and a strong interest in art, art history, and illustration. Given the variety of tasks taking place within the Museum, applicants from many areas of scholastic concentration, not solely-art related, are encouraged to apply. Qualifications: Must be comfortable working with the public and on a team in a fast-paced environment, available Friday afternoons, and posses a flexible schedule. Internship Program Information We provide academic credit for quality internship opportunities in nearly any field anywhere in the US

Students can choose to pursue an internship from our established placements or may design their own

Students may participate in paid and unpaid internships for academic credit

Student Requirements 2.5 GPA or higher

Minimum 60 credits prior to internship

Available free elective credit – student should meet with an academic advisor to confirm credits

Good academic and social standing

Important Dates Students should begin the internship search the semester before they plan to intern

Internships should be finalized two weeks before the semester begins

Hours and Credits Earn FREE ELECTIVE credits for ITR 302 (field experience) and ITR 304 (seminar)

Students earn PASS/FAIL credit for their field experience (3,6, 9, or 12 credits)

Students will enroll in a 3-credit seminar offered in class or online

Seminar focuses on the intern’s learning experience as well as professional and career development, making the connection between academic background and practical experience.

9 Credits 315 Hours Total 24 hours per week
