It is used to determine whether a pet may have serious kidney disease. It measures whether the excretion of protein is greater than expected when compared to the excretion of creatinine. BUN level is commonly associated with kidney disease or inadequate liver function. Also, many other factors can affect the BUN level. For example, dehydration or stomach bleeding can affect the BUN level. AST (aspartate aminotransferase) is associated with liver or muscle damage. ß-ketone is the most important in ketone body of dairy cows. It will be used by muscle and nerve tissue as an energy substrate and the overflow of ketones provokes ketosis. ALT (alanine aminotransferase) increases sensitive indicator of liver cell damage. When Blood Glucose has an imbalance and fuel mobilization dominates, the animal will be hyper glycemic and potentially ghlucosuric; glucosuria reduces the magnitude of the hyperglycemia. TC increased values may indicate a variety of metabolic disturbances including diabetes mellitus and hypothyroidism. Lactate increased values indicate either local or general decreased blood perfusion.
